NIT Kurukshetra offers an extensive array of scholarships to its enrolled students, considering both their academic achievements and financial circumstances. Aligned with the guidelines established by the Government of India and the institution itself, NIT Kurukshetra extends scholarships to first-year as well as subsequent-year (2nd, 3rd, or final year) undergraduate and postgraduate students, contingent upon their performance in the latest qualifying examination.

Merit Scholarship:
Each academic year (2nd, 3rd, and 4th year) within every discipline of the respective programs, the institute provides 26 Merit Scholarships. To qualify, students must have attained a minimum of 60% marks or higher in the previous qualifying semester/final semester.
Merit Cum Means Scholarship:
The Merit Cum Means Scholarship is available to undergraduate students at any stage of their program at NIT Kurukshetra. To qualify for this scholarship, students must demonstrate an annual family income below INR 2,50,000 (excluding HRA) and achieve a minimum of 60% marks or more in one attempt in the qualifying examination.
National Scholarship:
The National Scholarship is available to students who have achieved a minimum of 60% marks in their most recent qualifying examination and come from families with an annual income of less than INR 2,50,000 (excluding HRA). Under this scholarship scheme, institute residents receive INR 300 per month, while day scholars are awarded INR 120.
National Scholarship for Children of School Teachers:
The National Scholarship is specifically designated for children of working teachers in recognized primary/secondary schools. Applicants must have achieved a minimum of 60% marks or a first division in their last qualifying examination, and their annual family income should not surpass INR 2,50,000.
Post matric Scheduled Caste/ Tribe Scholarship:
The Post Matric SC/ST Scholarship is available to students belonging to the SC/ST categories with an annual family income of less than INR 2,50,000. Under this scheme, boarders receive a monthly allowance of INR 425, while day scholars are granted INR 190 per month.
Alumni Association Scholarship:
The Alumni Association Scholarship is available to B.Tech students at NIT Kurukshetra enrolled in the departments of Civil, Mechanical, Electronics, and Computer Science Engineering. Financially disadvantaged students of the NIT Kurukshetra B.Tech program are eligible for five scholarships, each worth INR 2400 per annum. To apply for the Alumni Association Scholarship, the applicant’s parents/guardians must submit the necessary documents along with an affidavit detailing their income from all sources.
