To appear for the entrance examination of the institute, the candidates need to pass the following criteria:

• Candidates seeking admission in Bachelors of Design need to have 10+2 pattern degree from a recognised board. The Bachelor’s degree is offered in different specializations but the eligibility criteria remain the same. There is a maximum age limit of 23 years, which extends up to five more years for the SC/ST caste candidates and person with disabilities (PwD).
• Candidates who seek admission Masters course needs to have an undergraduate degree in any specialisation from a recognised University as per Indian law or a candidate who have Diploma of minimum three years from NIFT /NID. There is no age limit.
• The institute conducts an entrance exam that is Creative Ability Test followed by a personal interview. The selection of the candidates is done on the basis of merit.
