NIFT Shillong Courses and Fees Structure

National Institute of Fashion Technology Shillong was established in 2008 and in its initial days it used to offer specialisation only to undergraduates. There was no Postgraduate programme until 2013. Now, the institute offers many courses in different specializations. It covers Postgraduate, Undergraduate and CE programmes for the candidates. For Undergraduate students, the institute offers B.Des with specialisation in Fashion Design and Accessory Design.

The Master’s programme was introduced in 2013. In the PG programmes, NIFT Shillong courses include specialisation in Master of Fashion Management (MFM). In the first batch, it attracted 43 students who were finally offered NIFT courses in the master’s programme. Among the students, 90% of the candidates get placement opportunity.

NIFT offers B.Des with a duration of four years, the eligibility for which requires 10+2 certificate from a recognised institute. Candidates who have a passing grade from National Open School with a minimum of five subjects are also eligible for the entrance test. The total fees for the B.Des course are 11.35 lakhs, which can be paid in eight semesters according to the NIFT fee structure. For the master’s programme, candidates need to have a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or institute. Under this programme, the institute offers Fashion Management specialisation and NIFT Shillong fees are 4.54 lakhs for the course. It can in divided in two years as per the NIFT Shillong fee structure.
