Earlier known as ‘Malabar University’, the  Kannur University was founded in the year 1996. But it began functioning on the 2nd of March in the same year. The inauguration of the university was done by the then Chief Minister of Kerala.

The university has six campuses at present and aims at providing higher education in the areas of Kasargod and Kannur. These campuses are Dr P.K. Rajan Memorial Campus, Palathadam, Nileswaram, Mananthavady Campus, Kasargod Campus, Swami Anandatheertha Campus, Mangattuparamba Campus and Thalassery Campus. The UGC approved university is also a member of AIU. 

KannurUniversity has multiple numbers of courses in which students seek to get admission. Each candidate undergoes from a whole process before they get access to the university. The cut-off numbers or the KannurUniversity results in each entrance exam are evaluated on many factors.

Firstly, the amount of the students are considered, and how many of them have passed the reviews are checked. The difficulty level of question paper is another essential aspect to consider while allocating the cut-off marks. The cut-off marks also depend on the past year cut-off trend.

After clearing the respective examination, candidates have to give an interview, and the interview round is needed to be cleared by the candidates by scoring above the cut-off marks. These cut off-targets vary from general to scheduled caste category.
