Jiwaji University Campus Facilities
The University of Jiwaji is located at Gwalior district in Madhyapradesh state. It has been named after the Maharaja Jivajirao Scindia who was the rearmost Emperor in Gwalior. The university was established back in the year 1964. The university ultimately comes in the category of a Government University.
The then President of India, Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan positioned the first stone on December 11th in the year 1964. There are almost three hundred colleges in Madhya Pradesh that are under the affiliation of Jiwaji University.
Jiwaji University has various campus buildings. There are Administrative Building, Art and Commerce Department, academic buildings for Law, Advanced technology. In the south campus, there is a computer edifice, boys’ hostel and Charak Udayan.
The university has two hostels for girls named as Rani Laxmi Bai Girls’ Hostel and Mrignayani Girls’ Hostel. These hostels offer clean furnished rooms with a big common dining hall and good quality food. Captain Roop Singh is the boys residential Building.
The hostel has the accommodation capacity of around 150 people. There is another boys hostel called the AryaBhatta Hostel which offers well-furnished rooms. All these hostels have high-speed internet access.
Central Library of Jiwaji University offers a huge book collection of around a number of 1,40,000 and research journal of 8,000 bound volumes. There is a different section regarding the unpublished thesis. The central library also propounds the access of high-speed internet and microfilm reader and a film projector.
The books are collected keeping the syllabus of the students of PG and UG courses at the Jiwaji University. There is a large reading hall, as well.
Apart from the above-mentioned facilities, there is a health care centre which offers free medical check-ups to the teaching and non-teaching staff, including the students of the hostels. Besides that, the university campus consists of a sports club and yoga centre for the students.
