IPE Hyderabad Campus Facilities

Academic Block Overview:

The air-conditioned Academic Block, spanning four stories and covering a total built-up area of 1,66,342 sq.ft., includes Faculty Rooms, Classrooms, Computer Labs, Office Rooms, Workstations, Seminar Halls, a Board Room, Library, and an Auditorium. The key features are outlined below:

  • Classrooms and Discussion rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi and multimedia facilities to enhance the learning experience.
  • Two Computer Labs house 120 high-configuration computer systems, providing hands-on sessions and training through simulated gaming. High-end systems and software packages like Tableau, SPSS, and SAP support students in working within simulated market scenarios. These labs are also used for internal online examinations and placement activities.
  • The Auditorium, with a seating capacity of 450, serves as a venue for guest lectures, eminent speakers, visiting professors, and cultural and student activities.
  • Two ‘U’-shaped Seminar Halls, each spanning 1700 sq.ft., are equipped with goose neck microphones and multimedia facilities, creating a conducive environment for seminars and interactive sessions for around 100 participants.
  • All floors in the Academic block are equipped with toilets, and spacious staircases on all four sides of the building facilitate easy movement.
  • The Academic Block features five lifts for convenient access.
  • Compliance with fire safety norms is ensured, with firefighting equipment available and well-defined fire exits on all sides of the building.
  • The building is designed to cater to the needs of physically handicapped individuals.
  • Rainwater harvesting is actively implemented by diverting collected rainwater to natural lakes.

Classrooms & Learning facilities

Situated on a sprawling 22-acre Shamirpet Campus in pollution-free surroundings on the outskirts of Hyderabad, the Institute prioritizes state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities to enrich the students’ learning experience. The IPE Hyderabad campus embraces green concepts and techniques to achieve:

  • Reduced energy consumption while maintaining comfort levels.
  • Preservation of natural areas, habitats, and biodiversity, with minimised soil erosion.
  • Mitigation of air and water pollution, resulting in direct health benefits.
  • Decreased water consumption.
  • Limited waste generation through effective recycling and reuse.

Certified with a ‘Five Star’ rating under GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India, and The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), the buildings at IPE hold the prestigious LEED India New Constructions ‘Platinum’ rating award from the Indian Green Buildings Council (IGBC). This recognition was conferred at the Green Buildings Congress 2018 held in Hyderabad from November 1 to 3, 2018.

The extensive 5,75,000 sq. ft. built-up area includes a four-storied Academic Block, two separate nine-storied hostel buildings for boys and girls, and a food court. Central air-conditioning is provided to the Academic Block and Hostels through two 100 TR chiller plants. Uninterrupted power supply is ensured with two power backup diesel generators of 500 kVA and 250 kVA. The Water Treatment Plant (WTP) produces safe drinking water using Reverse Osmosis (RO) purifiers, while the Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) recycles used water for gardening, flushing toilets, etc., promoting water conservation.

The entire IPE Hyderabad campus is under constant surveillance with strategically located CC cameras. A robust 450 Mbps Wi-Fi connectivity covers the entire campus. Outdoor sports facilities include football, volleyball, basketball, shuttle, net cricket, table tennis, etc., complemented by indoor games such as caroms and chess.

IPE Library

IPE Library serves as an immersive space for research, learning, and creativity. The library boasts an extensive collection of 45,784 documents, encompassing books, reports, and journal back volumes across various domains like management, economics, and information technology. Annually, it acquires over 120 journals from national and international sources in print.

The collection extends to publications from the Controller and Auditor General (CAG), The Annual Survey of Public Enterprises by the Ministry of Industry, Government of India, and evaluation reports from different states’ bureaus of public enterprises. Beyond print materials, the library offers a plethora of electronic resources, including books, journals, magazines, videos, and more. These digital assets are accessible anytime and anywhere for authenticated users.

Library Accessibility:

The library operates its full suite of services from 8:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. on weekdays and 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. on weekends, excluding IPE holidays. Faculty, students, and scholars enjoy seamless access to all library resources, including online databases, journals, books, and digital materials. Regular online surveys and feedback sessions with faculty members and students ensure the continuous enhancement of services. In addition to traditional offerings such as book check-in/check-out, the library provides current awareness services, reprography/scanning/printing facilities, personalised assistance in locating books/searching the catalog, research and reference services, email alerts, and more.

IT Infrastructure

The provision of integrated hardware, software, network resources, and services necessary for the establishment, functioning, and administration of an institution’s IT environment.

In the contemporary interconnected world, the IT infrastructure and internet facilities serve as foundational elements for every B-School. They are crucial for accessing web-based knowledge resources and facilitating routine teaching and learning activities. Proficiency in Information Technology is vital for efficient management. Aligning with prevailing IT trends in the industry, the Institute has established a well-equipped Computer Centre featuring servers and 120 PCs with cutting-edge configurations. IPE ensures that all students in PGP Courses receive brand new laptops. The entire IPE Hyderabad campus is WiFi-enabled, providing 24×7 internet access at 600 Mbps (1:1) in accordance with AICTE norms. To enhance security across the campus, IPE has implemented biometric systems and CCTV surveillance. Additionally, IPE utilises a college ERP solution for effective stakeholder management, involving students, teachers, parents, and IPE administration. The institute offers various software applications, including Office 365, SPSS, SAP, Tableau, Bloomberg Terminal, and LMS – MOODLE.

General

All individuals utilising the IT infrastructure and Internet services at the IPE Hyderabad campus are advised to recognise that these facilities are intended for official purposes arising from academic activities and administrative responsibilities related to students, faculty, and staff at the Institute. The utilisation of network resources for personal reasons is discouraged.

Every user is anticipated to approach the network resources with a sense of ownership and active participation, taking responsibility for preventing any misuse of the facilities. Users are required to thoroughly read and comprehend the established procedures for managing the 1200 network users. It is imperative to understand that the use of these facilities is governed by the Indian IT Act, and any violation thereof constitutes a cognizable offense under the Act.

Use of Internet access

  • All users are required to carry their identity cards when visiting the computer labs and display them upon request to the lab in-charge.
  • Internet access for communication and downloading audio/video content is strictly provided for academic/administrative purposes and should not be used for personal advertising, solicitations, promotions, or any other commercial activities.
  • The use of internet access is strictly prohibited for participating in internet chat rooms, online contests, online gaming, gambling, stock trading, etc., and for viewing/downloading entertainment videos/songs/images or any other pornographic/objectionable content.
  • Access to sites that are known to be offensive, obscene, or banned under the law is blocked by the IT administrator. If a user encounters any material deemed offensive, disrespectful, or inappropriate, they should report it to the IT Facilitator for appropriate action.
  • Users should refrain from accessing/uploading/downloading any material/content that could be considered objectionable by other users. This includes all content covering, but not limited to, jokes, harassments, or discrimination based on various factors.
  • The use of the network to spread harmful messages/programs, tamper with contents stored on other computers, hack into and compromise the security of other systems, or cause any form of damage using internet access is strictly prohibited. Such acts are offenses, and users are liable for any civil losses caused, in addition to criminal prosecution under the Indian IT Act 2000.
  • Connecting external storage devices to computers in the labs without prior permission from the lab in-charge is prohibited. If users need to back up contents downloaded from the Internet or other work in the lab, they must take precautions and scan their USB pen drives with antivirus software installed on computers. 

Use of Email facility

  • The email facility is provided to students, faculty, and staff for official purposes. Official IDs, whether generic or personal, should not be used for personal benefits through posturing and/or impersonation.
  • Internal emails should not be copied/forwarded to outside vendors/suppliers or any other agencies for conveying internal decisions. The email facility should not be used to share any confidential/sensitive information related to the Institute’s activities.
  • The use of email service to send anonymous, harassing, fraudulent, or threatening messages is strictly prohibited.
  • Emails accumulate over time, consuming the allocated storage space in email servers. Therefore, users must clean up their mailboxes regularly to prevent exceeding the allocated storage space. Failure to do so may result in the IT Facilitator deleting older emails to manage storage capacity.

Provision has been made to accommodate 60% of the total student intake in the hostels.

Two separate 9-storied buildings have been constructed to offer air-conditioned hostel accommodations for both boys and girls. Each hostel comprises 175 rooms with a carpet area of 218 sq.ft. per room, and all rooms have attached bathrooms.

The rooms are furnished with cots, mattresses, wardrobes, shoe racks, study tables, etc., ensuring a comfortable stay for the students.

Based on availability, rooms are allotted on a single or double occupancy basis.

Nine suite rooms on the 9th floor of both hostels are designated for bachelor accommodation for faculty and guests.

Solar hot water, backed up with heat pumps, provides hot water in the morning and evening to all hostel rooms.

Each hostel is equipped with two high-speed elevators.

A common room on the ground floor serves as a meeting space for students to gather and watch TV programs.

The design of the hostels and other structures facilitates easy access for physically challenged individuals.

Each hostel has three specially designed rooms for physically challenged students.

Hostellers benefit from complimentary laundry services in an automated Laundromat.

Round-the-clock security is in place in both hostels to prevent unauthorised access.

Resident wardens in both hostels provide necessary support to ensure the delivery of all facilities to the hostellers.

A resident nurse, supervised by a visiting doctor, oversees medical facilities and emergencies around the clock. All students are covered under a group medical policy to address hospitalisation expenses if required.

The presence of a well-equipped, air-conditioned gym and other sports facilities allows students to unwind and relax beyond lecture hours. Resident wardens and a resident nurse provide essential support to ensure the delivery of all facilities to hostellers. Food court

The food court features a modern kitchen on the ground floor, ensuring the hygienic preparation of food for students. Professional caterers handle catering services, delivering breakfast, lunch, evening snacks, and dinner to hostellers. Additionally, lunch and breakfast are available to staff and day-scholars in the food court. The dining hall, situated on the first floor, is naturally ventilated and can accommodate up to 400 members simultaneously.

An air-conditioned VIP dining hall is reserved for serving lunch or dinner to visiting dignitaries and guests. Three kiosks within the food court offer a variety of food items to students for a fee.

The food court building also houses the following facilities:

  1. An air-conditioned gymnasium equipped with modern equipment and separate wash/change rooms for both boys and girls.
  2. A modern laundry equipped with heavy-duty washing machines and dryers, providing complimentary laundry services to hostellers.
  3. Both gym and laundry services are offered to hostellers at no additional cost.

Sports Facility

Prioritizing the significance of physical activity in helping students relax and reenergise, IPE has consistently focused on providing top-notch sports facilities. The IPE Hyderabad campus space is efficiently utilised to create playgrounds, and each year, students are equipped with the necessary sports gear. Emphasizing student involvement, the Sports Committee encourages students to take the lead in organising sports activities. IPE sponsors students to participate in sports competitions hosted by other colleges, fostering a spirit of healthy competition. Moreover, students are motivated to arrange inter-college sports competitions within the IPE Hyderabad campus.

Indoor Sports Facilities

A sports complex, standing at a height of 35 feet and spanning an area of 7360 square feet, is currently under construction at an estimated cost of approximately Rs. 2 crore. Situated behind the hostels, the complex is designed to house two badminton courts equipped with PVC sports flooring, two table tennis tables, and facilities for other indoor games such as carom and chess.

The proposed sports shed includes provisions for three badminton courts, with two courts featuring PVC sports flooring and one designated as a practice court. Additionally, there is an elevated stage area, standing 3 feet high, for hosting small events organised by students. A compact gallery on the first floor serves as seating for spectators, accessible via external staircases. Separate toilet and change room facilities are also incorporated for both boys and girls.

Outdoor Sports Facilities

  1. Synthetic Acrylic Basketball Court with lighting of standard measurements laid as per FIBA Rules

  4. Two outdoor shuttle courts

The following outdoor sports facilities are available in the IPE Hyderabad campus:

  1. A Titanium FIFA certified Soccer Turf football ground opposite the Academic Block with a playing area of 80 ft X 40 ft. with FIFA certified artificial turf; and
  2. Two European ITF certified 5-layer Acrylic Standard Tennis Courts behind the Food Court opposite to the Laundry.

Medical Facility

  • A resident nurse is available in the IPE Hyderabad campus round the clock to take care of the medical requirements of the Hostellers and Day scholars.
  • An MoU is entered into with Mediciti Hospital to depute a qualified Doctor to IPE on all the working days to provide medical consultations to the students and staff.
  • One medical room is available in the Girls Hostel with all facilities to take care of emergencies.
  • Following the COVID safety protocols, the hostel rooms on the Ground Floor are kept ready to isolate students with any suspected symptoms.
  • All essential medicines are available in the Medical Unit and provided to students free of cost.
  • An ambulance with driver is available in the Campus round the clock to attend any emergencies.
  • All the students are covered under a group insurance policy for accidents and hospitalisation.
  • Medical Awareness Camps are organised for students and staff at the time of outbreak of any viral diseases like swine flu, etc. and preventive medicines are provided.
  • Essential hospital equipment’s like stretchers, oxygen cylinders, wheelchairs are maintained in the Medical Unit.
