IMED Pune provides two types of MBA programs, namely the General MBA and MBA-HR program. Both programs have a duration of two years.

IMED Pune MBA Eligibility

To be eligible for admission to the MBA programs at IMED Pune, candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates). Candidates in their final year of graduation are also eligible to apply.

IMED Pune MBA Selection Criteria

The selection of candidates for the MBA programs is based on their performance in the BMAT entrance exam conducted by Bharati Vidyapeeth.

Key Points:

• One seat is reserved for candidates from J & K who have qualified the BMAT exam.
• 15% of the seats are reserved for candidates under the Foreign/NRI/P.I.O/OCI/Management merit category.

IMED Pune offers a full-time PhD Program in Management at the doctoral level. The program has a duration of three years.

IMED Pune has specific eligibility criteria for admission to its full-time PhD program. Candidates must have completed their Post Graduation in a relevant stream with a minimum aggregate of 55% from a recognized University. Reserved category students are given a 5% relaxation, requiring a minimum aggregate of 50%.

The selection process for the PhD program at IMED Pune involves ‘The All India Entrance Test’ conducted by Bharati Vidyapeeth. Admissions are based on the merit of the candidates in the entrance exam, as well as seat availability. Once selected, candidates are required to participate in an interview.

However, candidates who have appeared for UGC-NET (including JRF/AYUSH-NET)/ UGC – CSIR NET (including JRF/SLET/ GATE/ GPAT/ Project Fellows / Teacher fellowship or DST inspire fellowship, DBT fellowship, or Quality improvement program (QIP)/ National Doctoral Fellowship Scheme (NDF) or have passed M.Phil. are exempted from the entrance test. These candidates will still need to attend an interview as part of the selection process.

The PhD entrance test at IMED Pune follows a specific pattern. The ‘All India Entrance Test’ carries 50% weightage for Research Methodology and 50% weightage for the prescribed syllabus of respective subjects. The test is conducted for a duration of 3 hours and has a total of 100 marks.

To qualify for admission, candidates must score a minimum of 50% marks in the entrance test (with a relaxation of 5% for SC/ST/differently-abled candidates, i.e., 45% marks). Candidates who score 50% or more will be eligible for the interview round.

The entrance test is conducted in English and consists of two sections. Section 1 focuses on Research Methodology and carries 50 marks, while Section 2 is based on the respective subject and also carries 50 marks. Each section comprises 7 questions, and candidates need to attempt any 5. The syllabus for both sections is available on the university’s website.

Additionally, selected candidates will be required to appear for an interview, which carries 50 marks. During the interview, candidates are expected to present their research area/interest through a presentation.

Here are a few key points to note:

• Applicants who have completed their M.Phil. dissertation and are awaiting the viva voce can also apply for admission to the PhD program.
• Candidates in the final year of their post-graduate examination can also take the entrance test provisionally.
• 15% of the seats are reserved for Foreign / NRI / PIO candidates, who will also need to attend an interview as part of the selection process.
