IIT Kharagpur campus has hostels for both girls and boys to facilitate on-campus living for students pursuing UG and PG programs in residential modes. IIT Kharagpur owns a total of 21 hostels known as Halls of Residence, which provide a comfortable living environment for all students by providing all necessary amenities such as mess and dining facilities.

IIT Kharagpur Campus Life & Events
IIT Kharagpur’s campus is situated 120 kilometers west of Kolkata, in the West Midnapore district, just five kilometers from Kharagpur Railway Station. Covering an expansive 2100 acres, it is one of the largest IIT campuses. The area is known for its lush greenery and natural surroundings.
The campus provides a variety of facilities, including restaurants, banks, stadiums, a gym, hospitals, a post office, and a railway reservation counter. The Student Activity Center, also known as the Technology Students’ Gymkhana, serves as the focal point for numerous extracurricular and co-curricular activities, from sports to cultural events.
