Campus Infrastructure

• The primary campus at Valiamala encompasses the academic zone, research laboratories, library and information blocks, computer center, administrative precinct, senate-cum-convocation area, residential quarters, students’ activity center, and a sports complex.
• All academic labs at IIST are meticulously designed with state-of-the-art experimental setups and equipment. IIST houses three Centers of Excellence in Advanced Propulsion and Laser Diagnostics, Virtual Reality, and Nanoscience & Technology, where students engage in advanced and sophisticated experiments.

Library

• The library operations are fully computerised, and the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is accessible around the clock from any location on campus.
• The campus-wide network hosts a wealth of e-resources, including over 3,000 e-journals, numerous conference papers, standards, and more.

Computing Facilities

• The institution provides robust computing facilities for students, including:
  • Data Center with a High-Performance cluster server boasting a speed of 3 Terra flops (32 HP Blade servers with 64 Dual Quad Processors), 20 TB SAN Storage with NAS Header, Campus Automation Servers, and 8 Servers with 4CPU/Dual CPU.
  • High-Performance Computing Lab.
  • Programming Lab equipped with 64 Desktop Computers and heavy-duty printers.

Sports Facilities

• The Sports Club organises engaging events like the IIST Cricket League, and there’s also a Badminton Club. Students have the opportunity to participate in football and basketball.

Health Facilities

• A clinic is available, and IIST ensures emergency medical care and hospitalisation for all students through a Memorandum of Understanding with M/s Ananthapuri Health Services.

Additional Facilities

• In addition to the above, there are various other amenities, including a Guest House, Studio Apartments, Bank and Post Office, Open Air Theatre, and Convocation Complex.
• IIST fosters a dynamic research environment with over 200 PhD scholars involved in cutting-edge research areas.
