Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology Placement
The Placement Cell of IIST continually liaisons with industry, R&D organisations, and management organisations, with the foresight of Training, Career-Guidance, Internship/ Project, and Campus Placements. The Placement Cell works closely in line with the policies of the Institute and tries to coherently match the interests of students with an appropriate job profile. The institute provides an internship for both B.Tech. and M.Tech. programs for a period of two months, tentatively from May to July, every year. However, internships that require more than two months, for select M.Tech Programs, can be worked out in line with the institute policies and guidelines.
The students, who secured a minimum CGPA criterion, are absorbed in different ISRO centres. Till last year, 1231 students absorbed in ISRO centres with 90+ students got the job last year. From 2021 admissions, the absorption to DOS/ISRO has been revised and for more information refer to section 8. The placement cell serves as an interface with different companies to facilitate campus placements for the students of IIST.

Scholarship from the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology
- Research scholars selected for IIST Ph.D. programme with Post Graduate (PG) Degree in Basic Science with NET or equivalent qualification OR Graduate Degree in Professional Course with NET or equivalent qualification OR Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course will receive a Fellowship of Rs.31000/- per month.
- After two years of research experience, their performance will be evaluated by a review committee. Based on the review, the fellowship amount may be enhanced to Rs.35000/- per month.
- The scholars will be required to assist the Departments in tutorials / practicals or related academic activities normally limited to 6 hours per week
- The scholars will have to pay for the services provided by the Institute like boarding / lodging / medical facilities etc., as per IIST rules.
