IIM Bodh Gaya Scholarship

IIM Bodh Gaya has introduced scholarships aimed at supporting highly capable students, ensuring they can pursue their education without hindrance, even if their families have limited financial means. These scholarships at IIM Bodh Gaya serve as an additional source of encouragement for deserving students.

Financial assistance is provided in various ways, including support from IIM Bodh Gaya, the Government of India, and potentially from private organisations or corporations that wish to contribute to this cause.

IIM Bodh Gaya offers and accepts various scholarships, including the following:

IIM Bodh Gaya Need-Based Financial Assistance (NBFA) Scholarship

The Need-Based Scholarships are tailored for high-achieving students with constrained financial resources.

Eligibility for these scholarships and the amount of financial aid provided to students are contingent on their family’s income. Here are the specific details:

Scholarships offered by the Government of India 

The Government of India provides numerous scholarships to assist students in obtaining the necessary financial support for their education. You can find information about these scholarships, especially those for Persons with Disabilities (PwD), on the official portal: http://disabilityaffairs.gov.in/content/.

Here is a curated list of scholarships that can be particularly beneficial for PwD students at IIM Bodh Gaya:

Scholarship for Top-Class Education for Students with Disabilities (SwDs) is available for students pursuing graduate or postgraduate degree/diploma courses in recognised educational institutions.

Eligibility criteria include:

  1. Enrollment in a recognised institute for a graduate or postgraduate program.
  2. Total annual income of parents/guardians not exceeding INR 6,00,000.

There are a total of 300 scholarship slots available.

  • National Overseas Scholarship (For Master’s Degree/Ph.D. in Universities abroad)

Students who are selected for advanced courses outside India may also be eligible for scholarships provided by the Government of India, subject to specific guidelines.

Eligibility criteria for National Overseas Scholarships include:

  1. Gross family income not exceeding INR 6,00,000 per annum.

There are 20 scholarship slots available per year.

  • National Fellowship for PwDs (For M.Phil and Ph.D. in Indian Universities

Students pursuing the National Fellowship programme for any of the courses like M.Phil and Ph.D belonging to PwD category are eligible to apply. There is no such annual income ceiling in the National Fellowship for PwDs. 

Selection Criteria

For Ph.D. – First class or 55% marks or equivalent grade in relevant Master’s Degree. Those having an existing post and employer are preferred for further financial support. 

For Masters’ Degree: – 55% marks or equivalent grade in relevant Bachelor’s Degree. Preference would be given to the experienced candidates. 

  • Scholarships for Girls

Amongst all the scholarships mentioned above, there is a 50% quota especially reserved for girls. Implying that be it Top Class Education Scholarship, National Overseas Scholarships or Free Coaching. 

Moreover, in the National Fellowship Financial Aid Programmes, girls have a reserved quota of 30% to access such financial assistance.

Note:- In case there are an inadequate number of girl candidates or found ineligible as per the terms and conditions of the scheme, the unutilised slots can be utilised by filling in with eligible male students as well.  

General Eligibility Criteria for Government of India scholarships are as follows:

  1. The scholarships are available exclusively to Indian nationals.
  2. A total of 6 scholarships are offered, specifically for students with disabilities, with a disability of more than 40%, and possessing a valid disability certificate.
  3. Only two children with disabilities from the same parents will be eligible for the scheme, provided that the second child is a twin.
  4. Scholarships are available for one year of study in any course or class. If a student must repeat a class, they will not receive a scholarship for that class for a second or subsequent year.
  5. Scholarship recipients under this scheme are not allowed to hold any other scholarship or stipend. If awarded any other scholarship or stipend, the student can choose between the two scholarships/stipends.
