Admissions at IIM Bangalore are based on various entrance exams such as CAT, GMAT, GRE, GATE, NET, or the IIMB Test, followed by a Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT) round. The expected overall cutoff for the MBA program is around 85 percentile.

IIM Bangalore MBA Admission Process

IIM Bangalore employs a two-phase selection process. In the initial phase, candidates are shortlisted for personal interviews based on their CAT scores. Those selected for the PI process must also participate in a Writing Ability Test (WAT) on a topic provided by IIMB. In the subsequent phase, final selection is determined by evaluating performance in the WAT, interview, and pre-PI scores.

Phase 1:

Candidates are shortlisted for the Personal Interview (PI) – Writing Ability Test (WAT) Round based on their CAT / GMAT / GRE scores. Shortlisted candidates must attend the PI-WAT Round.

Phase 2:

Final selection is based on overall performance in the PI-WAT, CAT / GMAT scores, academic scores, and work experience.

The weightage for the PI-WAT Round in Phase 1 is as follows:

IIM Bangalore PGPEM Selection Criteria 

Candidates will be selected for the personal interview based on their performance in CAT/GMAT/GRE/IIMB Test, previous academic achievements, and length of work experience. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in a personal interview and a writing ability test. The final decision will be based on previous academic performance, length and quality of work experience, social awareness, as well as performance in the interview and writing ability.

IIM Bangalore PGPEM Admission: Application Process

To apply for the PGPEM program, candidates can access the application form at http://iimberpsrv.iimb.ernet.in/prod/sfonlapp.home. They are required to complete the form with all necessary details, upload required documents, and pay an application fee of INR 1,500.

Candidates must possess a valid score in GMAT/GRE/CAT to be eligible for this program. Alternatively, they can also choose to take the IIMB Test, an online examination conducted by IIM Bangalore.

Applicants using their CAT score should indicate their interest in the PGPEM program in the CAT 2023 form.

Candidates opting for the IIMB Test need to pay an additional fee of INR 1,000 along with the application fee of INR 1,500.
