IIM Bangalore MBA Admission Process
IIM Bangalore employs a two-phase selection process. In the initial phase, candidates are shortlisted for personal interviews based on their CAT scores. Those selected for the PI process must also participate in a Writing Ability Test (WAT) on a topic provided by IIMB. In the subsequent phase, final selection is determined by evaluating performance in the WAT, interview, and pre-PI scores.
Phase 1:
Candidates are shortlisted for the Personal Interview (PI) – Writing Ability Test (WAT) Round based on their CAT / GMAT / GRE scores. Shortlisted candidates must attend the PI-WAT Round.
Phase 2:
Final selection is based on overall performance in the PI-WAT, CAT / GMAT scores, academic scores, and work experience.
The weightage for the PI-WAT Round in Phase 1 is as follows:
- CAT 2023 Score: 55 (VARC – 19; DILR – 21; QA – 15)
- 10th Board: 10
- 12th Board: 10
- Graduation Marks: 10
- Gender Diversity: 5
- Work Experience / Professional Course (Whichever is Higher): 10
The weightage for Final Selection in Phase 2 is as follows:
- CAT 2023 Score: 25 (VARC – 8.75; DILR – 10; QA – 6.25)
- Class 10th Marks: 5
- Class 12th Marks: 5
- Graduation Marks: 5
- Work Experience: 10
- WAT: 10
- PI: 40

- To apply for IIM Bangalore MBA admission, interested candidates need to visit the official website of CAT at www.iimcat.ac.in and register to create an account.
- Once registered, applicants can fill out the application form, providing personal, academic, and professional details, and upload the necessary documents.
- Within the same application form, candidates can also apply for IIM Bangalore’s PGP programs.
- After completing the application, candidates can submit it and proceed to pay the application fee.
