Campus & Architecture

Gautam Buddha University features a vast and eco-conscious residential campus spread across approximately 511 acres. The campus design emphasizes sustainability, with a central promenade, a peaceful lake, a meditation center, and interconnected academic buildings. It follows a pedestrian- and cycle-friendly layout, with vehicular traffic limited to the outskirts.

Academic Infrastructure

The university houses the Bodhisattva Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Central Library, which can seat around 2,000 students and provides access to over 13,000 e-resources, books, and journals. Classrooms and labs are smart-enabled with projectors, AV systems, and high-speed internet. A Central Computer Centre with nearly 900 modern computers supports academic needs across disciplines.

Auditoriums & Convention Centres

GBU features a large central auditorium with around 2,700 seats, in addition to multiple smaller school-level auditoriums. The campus also includes an International Convention Centre and a well-equipped Guest House that supports academic conferences, seminars, and dignitary visits.

There are around 18 to 21 separate hostel blocks for male and female students, with capacity for over 5,000 residents. These hostels offer single-occupancy rooms, common lounges, gyms, indoor games rooms, internet zones, and 24/7 security and maintenance.

The Eklavya Sports Complex spans 47 acres and includes facilities for outdoor games like cricket, football, athletics, tennis, and hockey. An indoor stadium supports sports such as badminton, wrestling, boxing, and table tennis. These spaces also host cultural activities and exhibitions.

Wellness & Meditation

A grand meditation center, designed like a Buddhist stupa, offers a tranquil space for self-reflection and mindfulness sessions. The peaceful surroundings of Shanti Sarovar (Peace Lake) and landscaped gardens further promote a calm campus environment.

Medical & Daily Amenities

The on-campus medical center is staffed with doctors and nurses and operates 24/7 with ambulance services. Dining facilities include a main mess, food courts, cafes, and popular chains like Starbucks and Dominos. The campus also offers shuttle transport, backup solar power, 1 Gbps internet, and full Wi-Fi coverage.
