Admission to the Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral level courses is done based on the marks scored in the merit-based entrance examination followed by a selection process. Admission Highlights 

• In the case of Burdwan University admission to the Undergraduate level B.Tech courses, candidates are shortlisted based on the marks scored in the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination or WB JEE exam. All applicants need to pass the HSC exam with the relevant subjects from a recognised board to be eligible to apply for the course. 
• For Burdwan University B.Ed admission, candidates are selected based on the marks scored in the Merit-based entrance examination. All applicants are required to have a  minimum of 50% marks in the Bachelor’s Degree or in the Master’s Degree or any other qualification, which is taken into consideration. • For the rest of the Undergraduate level courses, like B.Tech, candidates are shortlisted based on the marks scored in merit-based entrance examination followed by counselling. 
• To be eligible to take admission to the BA, B.Sc, BBA, BCA courses, all applicants should have passed the HSC exam with the relevant subjects from a recognised board. On the other hand, for Undergraduate level BFA, B.Com, BA, B.Sc. and BPT courses, all applicants should have passed the HSC exam with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate with the relevant subjects from a recognised board. Additionally, to be eligible for Undergraduate level B.A. LL.B course, the candidates need to pass the HSC exam with a minimum of 45% marks for General category candidates and 40% for Schedule Caste or Schedule Tribe candidates. 
• Burdwan University admission to the Undergraduate level LLB courses, candidates are selected through the Written Admission Test. All applicants need to pass a bachelor’s degree examination with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate from a recognised university to be eligible to apply. 
• Admission to the Postgraduate level M.Tech courses is done similarly. Candidates are selected based on the marks scored in the GATE examination. All applicants need to have a B.E. or B. • For the Postgraduate level MBA courses, the university considers MAT scores. All applicants need to have a graduation degree in the relevant subjects from a recognised board to be eligible to apply for the course. Burdwan University conducts admission through Written Test scores for the rest of the Postgraduate level courses. 
• For admission to the Doctoral level PhD and M.Phil courses, candidates are admitted to the programme based on their performance in the entrance test followed by an interview round. Candidates having a master’s degree with at least 55% marks in any relevant stream from a recognised university to be eligible to apply for the course.
