With the beginning of registration for MBA and MCA programs in the month of January, the admissions process for BMS College of Engineering gets underway. For UG courses, the application period starts in February. The application process is done offline, and applicants must print off their application and turn it in before the deadline. Admissions to UG programs are made on the basis of COMEDK, MBA, and MCA admissions are made on the basis of KMAT, and M.Tech. and M.Arch. admissions are made on the basis of PGCET. Only candidates from Karnataka who belong to the Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Other Backward Classes are granted any waiver of academic eligibility.

At the undergraduate level, BMSCE offers the degrees of Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech. ), Bachelor of Engineering (B.E. ), and Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch. The prerequisite for these courses is passing the 10+2 or a comparable test. B.Arch. is a five-year programme, while B.Tech./B.E. degrees are awarded after four years. The application form is available to candidates on the college’s official website. After completing the application, aspirants must mail it to BMS Educational Trust, located on Bull Temple Road in Bangalore, along with the required application fee.

According to the results of the Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka Undergraduate Entrance Test, applicants are admitted to B.Tech. and B.E. programs (COMEDK UGET). 180 multiple-choice questions worth 1 mark each will be included in the entrance exam. There will be three areas on the test: physics, chemistry, and math. There will be 60 questions in each section. The exam will last for three hours for the candidates. There won’t be any failing grades. The idea of least negative responses (number of incorrect answers) will be used to break a tie in the test score, though. Other techniques to break ties may also be used, if necessary.
The admission exam is based on the current 10 + 2 / 12th STD / second PUC syllabus.
There won’t be an entrance exam for applicants to the B.Arch course. According to the announcement on the COMEDK website, candidates seeking admission to the B. Arch course must submit a separate application form for counseling (which will be made available before counseling).
At the graduate level, BMSCE provides master’s degrees in business administration (MBA), technology (M.Tech), computer applications (MCA), and architecture (M.Arch). A bachelor’s degree in the pertinent field is the minimum requirement for eligibility. While M.Tech, MBA, and M.Arch are two-year programs, M.Arch is a three-year program. According to a candidate’s performance on the Karnataka Management Aptitude Test, admission to MBA and MCA programs is given (KMAT). There will be three areas on the test—Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Ability, and Logical Reasoning—each with 120 multiple-choice questions. There will be 40 questions in each section. The test will last two hours.
In order to be admitted to the M.Tech. and M.Arch. programs, candidates must score well on the Postgraduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET). There are 75 multiple-choice questions on the offline exam. Out of these, 50 MCQs will receive one mark, and 25 MCQs will receive two. There won’t be any failing grades. The exam will last 150 minutes for the candidates.
Candidates who have passed the GATE exam do not need to take the PGCET. Based on their GATE performance, they will get admitted.
Numerous research programmes are available through the BMS College of Engineering. The college’s Ph.D. entrance exam serves as the basis for admission. The merit of the applicant’s qualifying degree and performance on the exam are used to determine admission. There are eight Ph.D. engineering courses available, one in management, and one in information technology.
