About Training & Placement Cell

Placement Cell interacts with the reputed organizations for arranging campus interviews for the final year students. We make efforts to organize Design seminars, workshops and session for making the students understand the trends prevalent in the Industry. Mentors and stalwarts from the design domain are invited periodically to enrich the knowledge of our student community with the latest technological innovations and industry practices.

We produce Design adept professionals who are well equipped to handle the working norms of the industry and helping every student to define his/her career interest through participation in the Real life and research project ,Internships, Competitions, community involvement that enables them to grass root capacities of artisans & Crafts person.

Internship

The Industry internship Program at ARCH is an introduction to the industry and understanding of designer’s role and responsibility in this context. It is aimed at providing the students with a professional design experience by familiarizing themselves with the practices and processes of the industry .Our students’ exposure to the industry & a chance to work in the professional environment helps them to build their confidence and work-efficiency levels. The Industry Internship program is scheduled for 8 to 12 weeks and is a part of the final semester of the Academic Curriculum.

The program seeks to impart an overall understanding of the industry, production dynamics, quality checking and control, markets, trends and surveys. As also, the student is expected to get hands-on experience with design principles, material, finishes, design management, design communication and human resources utilization.

Placement Process

A big number of Corporate, Designers and Institutions are appreciating the Industry Engagement Initiative and Internship Program.

The activities of the cell are as follows:

Contacting various corporate houses regularly to invite them to campus for recruitment.

Assisting the corporate who visit the campus for recruitment to conduct their Placement Drive

Organizing industrial visits to students and faculty to various industries as recommended by the departments

Helping the final year students to get sponsoring industries to do their project work as recommended by the departments.

To organize behavioral training programs to bring about an overall development, improve self-esteem and confidence level, develop better presentation skills, learn to communicate well and participation in GDs, Mock personal interviews, etc.

The average salary for an entry level position for a student qualified in Design ranges from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh, depending on the size of the firm. If a student manages to get placed with a design Companies run by celebrity designers /the top notch names in the design Industry the starting salary is 20-30% higher than other firms.
