BITSAT 2024 Exam Pattern
The BITSAT exam is a computer-based test lasting for 3 hours, covering subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English & Logical Reasoning.
Candidates applying for engineering programs at BITS will need to tackle questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English & Logical Reasoning. On the other hand, candidates seeking admission to pharmacy programs will face questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, and English & Logical Reasoning.
If a candidate answers all 130 questions in BITSAT 2024, they will have the option to attempt 12 extra questions, consisting of 3 questions from each section. Candidates have the flexibility to attempt any section first as there is no sectional time limit for BITSAT 2024. Each correct answer earns 3 marks, while an incorrect answer results in a deduction of 1 mark. Unattempted questions receive zero marks.

How many questions are there in BITSAT?
The examination will comprise 130 multiple-choice questions to be completed within a timeframe of 3 hours. According to the BITSAT exam pattern, the question paper is segmented into four sections: Physics, Chemistry, English Proficiency & LR, and Mathematics/Biology.

What is BITSAT Marking Scheme?
In accordance with the BITSAT marking scheme for 2024, candidates receive 3 marks for every correct response, with a deduction of 1 mark for each incorrect answer. Unattempted questions do not receive any marks.

Additional Questions in BITSAT 2024
In BITSAT 2024, in addition to the initial 130 questions, candidates will also receive an extra set of 12 questions. These additional questions are reserved for candidates who finish the primary test within the allotted time frame.
However, these supplementary questions must also be attempted within the same 3-hour window. The distribution of these additional questions is as follows:
- Physics: 3 questions
- Chemistry: 3 questions
- Mathematics/Biology: 4 questions
- Logical Reasoning: 3 questions
Please note: Candidates opting to respond to these 12 extra questions are prohibited from revisiting the original set of 130 questions and making any alterations to their answers.
