An official notification has been released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) regarding the syllabus for the upcoming Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). JEE is a national-level entrance exam conducted every year for admission to engineering and architecture colleges. The registration process will start from September 3, 2019, and the exam will be held from January 6 to 11, 2020. Applicants in large numbers appear for the entrance test every year. Since students who are foreign nationals are also expected to answer the JEE Main test this year, the number of applicants is expected to cross 10 lakh.
Aspirants who apply for admission into engineering will have to appear for answer paper 1 which consists of Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. For architecture aspirants who will have to appear for an additional paper 2 which is a drawing paper. Students can check the official website jeemain.nic.in or nta.ac.in to access the detailed syllabus of the exam.
Paper 1 for engineering aspirants will consist of 90 questions. Each question will carry 4 marks. The Main paper is for 360 marks, that is, 4 marks per question. For every correct answer, you will 4 marks secure while for every wrong response 1 mark will be deducted.
There is no such weight given for physics, chemistry, and mathematics but mathematics is given first preference in a scenario where two or more students have secured the same marks, followed by physics and then chemistry. In case the overall marks of students remain the same, the priority is given to the student who is elder.
