The preparatory course schedule released by JEE Advanced 2016 today, July 18, has listed the institutes that will be hosting the course for the next year. As per the list, reporting to host centres will commence in the first week of August, about the same time when first year lectures will start in IITs. This year IIT BHU, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Madras, Kharagpur, Roorkee and ISM Dhanbad are confirmed as host institutes where preparatory courses will be held.
Students who have qualified for preparatory courses can read here for more information. Those who have been allotted preparatory course seats in institutes that are not hosting the course, have to report at the partnered institutes. For e.g. Students allotted IIT Kanpur, should report at IIT BHU (Banaras Hindu University) for the course. Similarly, those allotted IIT Delhi, should report at IIT Roorkee. See image below.
Host centres for IIT Bombay, IIT Dharwad and IIT Goa are yet to be announced. Although, since IIT Dharwad and IIT Goa are presently mentored by IIT Bombay, the host institute for the three IITs will most likely be IIT Bombay.
