With a mission to be a global, socially conscious and integrated school of management, contributing towards management development, both in India and abroad, IIM Lucknow undertakes a diverse range of academic activities and interventions aimed at creation, dissemination, and application of management knowledge and practices.
Manfest is IIM Lucknow’s annual business event, held from January 19 to 21, 2007. Over the years, Manfest, sponsored by leading Indian conglomerates, has become one of the most keenly awaited events in the Indian B-school calendar. Eminent management professionals and students from all corners of the country gather for a three day showdown to exchange ideas and to update themselves on the latest developments in the area of management and leadership.
The winner of Treatise will be crowned the ‘International Thought Champion’ and will walk away with a grand prize of $2000, with the runner’s up pocketing $1000. The contest comprises two phases; the first phase requires participants to submit a paper under any of the three themes, with five entries from each theme proceeding to Phase Two. 5 teams will then be formed, consisting of a member from each of the three themes. With each member being across geographies and time zones, working together on the final presentation striving to envision an investment roadmap that would firmly place India on the growth trajectory, it promises to be the ultimate exercise in international team management.
The selected finalists will be flown in to Lucknow to present their papers before a distinguished panel of judges from Price Waterhouse Coopers, the knowledge partner for the event. The finals will be held during MANFEST at the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow on the 21st of January 2007.
The other events to watch out for during Manfest 2007 are Biz Quiz, Call for Arms and Manfest Online to name a few. The special interest groups of IIML offer innovative, indigenously designed management games in all functional areas of management in Biz-Theatre. There is the Leaders Express event to attract the leaders of tomorrow. It then goes Beyond Business by having professional concerts, literary events and parties. The list goes on… The events are plenty and diverse, to suit the heterogeneous crowd that has turned up at Manfest, year after year.
