Mr. Y.C Deveshwar and Chairman Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. Mr. Keshub Mahindra. Chairman Wipro Technologies Ltd. Mr Azim Premji was awarded in absentia. Mr. Rajat Sharma was awarded Best Startup Entrepreneur of the year 2006. The main concern expressed was how to empower the rural India with innovation and comprehensive infrastructure development.
The Chief Guest Mr. Jayant Patil reiterated that the need of the hour is to transfer the responsibility to shape the future of country to engineers who have zeal, immense potential and capability.
Mr. Y.C Deveshwar outlined the challenges in the years ahead will be more complex and we must decide now, what role we have to play for the sustainability of the economic growth, while nurturing the environment at the same time.
Mr. Keshub Mahindra emphasized that there is no mantra for instant success but hard work. The attempt to alleviate poverty through wealth creation should not only be confined to cities but should be spread across the country.
Mr. Rajat Sharma promised that the voice of the common man will be made more forceful so as to incorporate the concerns of every strata of Society. He expressed that the Fourth Estate should depict the true voice of the people to empower and build a foundation of information exchange for the common man.
