Hi @Kumud_Mishra,
Great question! IFMR GSB provides every student with a wide range of opportunities to develop both entrepreneurial and leadership skills. Our classroom environment is designed in a way that encourages each student to take initiative, step into leadership roles, and learn through experience. It’s all about growing by doing—leading projects, making decisions, and learning from both successes and challenges.
Moreover we support innovation and startups through a dedicated Centre for Entrepreneurship , which acts as a hub for aspiring student entrepreneurs. Students with startup ideas can get access to:
Mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs and faculty.
Networking opportunities with investors and industry leaders.
Workshops and pitch events to refine their business model and get funding.
All our faculty come from some of the most reputed institutions in India. Many of them bring over 30 years of rich teaching experience, while others come directly from the industry to share practical, real-world insights. We also regularly have guest lectures by experts from various fields. What truly stands out is how approachable and knowledgeable our professors are—they all hold PhDs and have strong research backgrounds, which adds real depth to the learning experience.

We have a strong network of professors with significant industry experience, and our campus regularly hosts events organized by various clubs and the Entrepreneurship Cell. These events often feature high-profile guests — we’ve had speakers like Dr. Raghuram Rajan — and guest lectures are a regular part of several courses.
Our alumni network is also vast and well-connected. Many alumni actively support current students in securing internships and other opportunities. Additionally, there’s a mandatory two-month summer internship during the first two years, giving you the chance to gain real-world corporate experience, expand your network, and learn directly from professionals in the field.
A summer internship is a required part of our course and it also counts for credits. It happens twice — once after the first year and again after the second year. The first one is usually in accounting, and the second one is mostly in sales or a similar area.
The college helps you find these internships, usually in your home city or somewhere nearby. They last for 6 to 8 weeks. If you want, you can also find your own internship.
When you come back to campus, you’ll give a short presentation about what you learned during the internship to get your credits. It’s a great way to use what you’ve learned in class, get real work experience, and build your network.

Our college stands out for its unique and interdisciplinary curriculum. In addition to core subjects like accounting, students also study a wide range of disciplines such as chemistry, physics, and critical writing. This holistic approach is designed to equip you with the diverse skills needed for the real world.
We also offer flexible program durations—you can graduate in 3, 4, or 5 years, depending on whether you pursue a regular BBA, BBA (Honours), or the integrated MBA (IPM) track.
A mandatory summer internship program is part of the curriculum, which carries academic credits and provides valuable exposure to the corporate world.
You can find more detailed information on our website.
Students can also choose to take a year long sabbatical between BBA and MBA to acquire experience in the industry, family business or as an entrepreneur.
hi @Sanjeev.Soitkar ,
So there is a placement committee which helps students to find internships in their city. Every student has an option to either take an internship from the college or on their own. For instance after the first year we are supposed to do an accounting internship, some of us found on our own and many were placed by the college. I hope this answers your query.
dear @VinitaWadhwa,
So there are multiple projects included in the course. Like each term you have one field visit on which u do a report, then there are internships, also every term atleast one subject requires you to work on something and present at the end of the trimester. i hope that answers your query
