B Sportive the Sports Committee of IFMR GSB conducted a football tournament “Joga Bonito” for both the MBA batches.
As the phrase goes, The beautiful game was played by five teams and participated in teams of six. Top two teams with maximum scores made it to the finals on the last day . It was an exhilarating last day with each team giving their all to entertain the fully packed Futsal ground. The Invincibles won the tournament with a goal difference of one. Nritya, the official dance club of IFMR-GSB, organised an engaging event on January 24 called “Chance Pe Dance”, where they broke the convention that contestants must dance in order to win.
In the first round, students participated in teams of two. In each, one of the players was blindfolded, and the other had to share verbal clues to help their partner assume a dance pose.
The second round was a hook step challenge. The members of each team had to perform the iconic dance steps.

Dr Gayathri Sampath, MBA Programme Chairperson and Associate Professor of Strategy at IFMR GSB, Krea University, was recently awarded the “Outstanding Woman Researcher in Strategic Management” award by the Venus International Foundation in Chennai for her contributions and achievements in the field of management.
" I started my second career as an academician at the age of 40, and it turned out to be one of the most fulfilling aspects of my life. Interacting with students kept me young at heart, and colleagues kept my mind agile. Receiving this award in recognition of my contributions to the area of strategy is truly special. It was a memorable and humbling experience to receive the award from fellow women researchers from different countries and departments who are changing the world in their unique ways," says Dr Gayathri Sampath.
LAST MAN STANDING is the flagship event of Abhyudaya, the annual fest of IFMR GSB, Krea University. Participants were challenged both physically and intellectually. Durability, stress, knowledge, and competence all come into play when addressing LMS. The participants were tested for perseverance by completing the challenges back-to-back for 30 hours. Typically, in a last-man-standing competition, participants compete against one another to be the last person standing. This could be in the form of a strategic game, a trivia competition, or a physical endurance test.
Participants underwent testing on both an emotional and physical level. It was difficult for the participants because they were far from the necessities of life.
Yet, as implied by the event’s name, “Last Man Standing,” there was ultimately only one survivor (the last man), but commendations go to all contestants for surviving till the very end. The event had exciting prize worth ₹35k.
The Speakers Club of IFMR GSB has conducted an event BREAK-THE-TABOO where the individuals have to speak about a topic that is branded as taboo in our society, given to them in an impromptu manner. Events like BREAK-THE-TABOO not only provide insightful information to the participants and audience but also act as bulwarks to remove the stigma associated with taboo-related topics. It is a fun-filled event where participants voice their opinion on the impromptu topics branded as TABOO in our society. Speakers clubs provide a supportive environment for individuals to develop confidence, leadership, and communication abilities.
