Candidates holding a bachelor’s degree in any discipline or its equivalent with at least 60% aggregate marks, and having studied at least one subject in mathematics or statistics at the high school (10+2) or higher level. Exposure to a programming language is desirable.

No you do not need engineering background to apply, If you have studied math/statistics in 12th grade and have 60% + throughout you can apply

Post applying on the portal, you will have to appear for the BAAT exam on 2nd April. The results will follow soon after post which the dates for your interview will be intimated to you. The final results will be out in around 2-3 weeks time post that tentatively.
The session will begin from 1st August most likely.
