Life @ BIMTECH

HI ALL

First of all i must apologise for not been able to answer ur queries since a long time.

Now coming to the queries.

1) How good is a difficult question, i cant quantify!, however, in terms of academics, u will get the best inthe industry in terms of faculty experience, industry visits, exposure to the industry., In terms of placement...well i will just come to it shortly.

2)MBA(Insurance) is a 2 year course approved by IRDA and again u will find brilliant scholars from the industry who have actually authored many insurance books and journals which promises a great learning environment. In terms of its placement, all top notch insurance brands visit campus ranging from AVIVA to TATA AIG and even CSC, the salary which they offer is worth an ROI.

3)Well whether its worth doin dbm at 4.5 lacs or not depends on u. average salary has gone up from 3.5to 3.8 this year with around 15 more companies lined up to recruit last 10 students which promises a even higher jump in avg. salary. I believe that while calculating the ROI, u must look around and compare the fee and opportunitiesavailable to u. U may pay 6.5 lacs and get nothing in terms of value add and pay 4.5 lacs and get more than that in terms of learning, experience, and remember its always an equation which adds up intangibles like i mentioned and the tangible part that is the salary component so the call is urs!

4)well there is no secrecy, but its our college policy to not to disclose the status before placements gets over. u can PM me or e mail at [email protected], Sorry, i cant make the data public, hope u understand!

5)ny where above 75 should be fine and with the score u have got, i m sure u will recieve a call soon.

Rest of people, gimme a day's time to figure out the details about admission as i have just come back frm a trip.
catch u soon!!

Hi there,

About preperation for GD/PI, here are few points on which u must focus.

  1. In GD, u can expect topics like FDI in retail, Corruption can be eliminated through sting operation, BPO is a hurdle in raising india's future talent etc... However one must be updated in terms of business news from BT, Business Line, BW etc..
  2. Engineers would be having an edge, so in case u r not, make sure u r strong acadenmically on at least one subject of ur choice from grads.
  3. BIMTECH generally prefers people who are aggressive and active, so make sure that u have a good sleep, night before ur interview.
  4. About dates.... Interviews will start from 2nd week of Feb so u can expect a call by 1st week.
  5. And remember... be yourself and be a go getter, u will be through!
All the Best!

hey ramit, since u have been posting so far, one more query

could u please find out whether these ppl. have dispatched the call letters to the CAT candidates.......coz i have received a call letter through the mat score so just anxious to join the PGDBM...
Thanks

hey guys..hows the mib course ,is it worth applying and how much percentile is reqd. to geta call from it

Hi,

my advice would be to not to go for MIB since its a new course started last year and its final placements wil start in next year. As far as the strength goes, its quite manageable i.e 60, However. course has run in to problems with some university affiliation getting cancelled and hence they rhave plans to merge it with dbm.

My advice wud be to try for BIMTECH's flagship course i.e dbm as MIB is stil in infancy stage. Rest is ur call!

Hey Guys

its been a long time that i havent posted anything on the forum, first of all my congratulations to all those who have been placed , and best of luc for the rest. As we all know that our life at BIMTECH is almost over as most of the students have gone to join their respective companies. I would still ask the whole second year lot to do some last time dhamal shamal before we leave the campus. As all of u will be starting your last sem project reports, so there is not much time left but still we can do some MASTI in the last days. Anyways i m missing the BIMTECH life.

Hope we will do some party when we meet at march again for our VIVA, and can see those budding managers who will be joining BIMTECH.

Best of luc to all those aspiring students

Jai BIMTECH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Can You Tell Me That Is It Worth Applying For A Course Other Than Pgdbm At Bimtech Through Mat

Hi!

Courses which you may consider other than dbm at BIMTECH are:

  1. PGDRMM - Post Graduate Diploma in Retail and merchandising Management (1year Course)
Go for it if u have inclination in retail operations as the placements of this course and retail sector, both are on boom!
Entry thru CAT/MAT
  1. PGDIRM - Post Graduate Diploma in Insurance and Risk Management (1 Year course) Entry thru CAT/MAT
Go for it if u like this sector as placements are one thing which are assured with this course. 2 days back 3 top brands recruited

  1. MIB, MIRM, etc... Cant say much about these 2 year courses as placements are yet to begin. Entry thru CAT/MAT

Please note that PGDBM is th eonly course for which ONLY CAT scores are accepted.

I hope i have clarifiied ur query and in case u have any more, i will be more than glad to answer them!

dbm - diploma in business management, it has to be prefixed by pg (post graduate), so together it becomes pgdbm (post graduate diploma in business management).:)

hey guys can u possibly tell what is the placement scenario like in Bimtech?........also when is the last date to apply for PGDBM.......thanx!
