Decide how much you'll have to score in written exam based on previous year cutoff. Total final marks will be converted to 100 in the weightage ratio of 80:20. written (80) and interview (20) In written exam : For every 2.5 marks you'll get 1 mark in final weighted score. ( If you score 120 out of 200, final score will be 48 out of 80 ) In interview : For every 5 marks you'll get 1 mark in final weighted score. ( If you score minimum passing mark ie. 40 out of 100, your final score will be 8) Total weighted score in this case will be 48+8=56 As you can see the screenshot of rrb phase v cutoff Rajasthan has the top score 88. No need to get panic on seeing the top score, as minimum cutoff of the same is 66. The minimum cutoff of almost all the states falls between 50 to 60. So in my opinion expected cutoff for scale 1 will be around 58 - 68 (Purely personal opinion) Around 130 in written will be safe score for most of the states. Around 120 will be decent score (have to work on interview) Around 110 You are still in game . Scoring 70 in interview will get you to final score of 58 All my assumptions are based on general category. Aim for at least 145 in written exam. Know the areas you are strong in . Further strengthen it by more practice. Don't waste your time on your weaker area. Plan your minimum no of attempts in each section, as you cannot attempt all the questions. All the best friends

Last year applied from a state in which my father was working....didn't apply for home state. In spite of knowing the local language better than locals was given least marks in po in interviews. In document verification was treated like....cant say. Have registered case against them but it is still running hv faced loss to the tune of 4lakhs. So better apply frm ur own state.....otherwise u will suffer afterwards.
