i am planning to give gmat this year maybe by aroung april or may. i haven't started the prep now but i am planning to start by feb.

Hello Alex, it's good to know that, even i have not started preparing, so how are you planning to go with it, are you taking any classes for GMAT, i have downloaded the GMAT dummy test, they seems to be pretty tough, do answer..

I haven't taken any classes yet. I am planning that first i myself will give GMAT a shot, after a few months down the line we all could guess if we really require the Classes, plus it's very difficult to join the classes being in an IT industry, they even call on weekends...:(

Please introduce your profiles. Cause , taking GMAT is the first step, rest is all profile game. So if you still don have the relevant profile, you have lot of time in your hand!!!

Hi Subhajitbiswas, what we can do to enhance our profiles apart from GMAT scores, as you mentioned "Profile Game".. Please, throw some light on this.. It's really helpful for new aspirants just like me who are planning to give GMAT 2013.

The mba.com site is pretty helpful... one can go through that... u even have dummy test in there.... however don't forget to change the location to 'India' on the rite hand corner before going through the website. & you said that you would like to give the exam first & then after seeing the marks you will decide weather or not to take the class. In this case you you referring to the dummy tests or the real one, kindly enhance..

Hey m also a kind of newbie, just have 34 months of work exe in BOSCH LTD.
But there are certain things that are to be done. May be someday we all can have a meet and decide a proper action plan. Its all about application, essays 7 SOP's after your are 680+ in GMAT. Which is pretty much gettable..

Hi Guys,

I have a 2 years experience and looking for doing Masters in Mgt. I am interested in opening or working in Tech. start up companies.

But looking at Singapore and US (ISB too); the price is insanely high. Do people have money before or they get scholarship or cheap bank loan of that huge sum, please answer.


Any active study or help group in Kolkata?

(Math Topper - Distric Level- by Rotract Club, 2nd Position in Matric exam in Town, Won Essay & GK competition)

12th - 65% - CBSE - DAV Public School, Ranchi
(None as such)

2 Years GAP

Grad - 8.86/10 (B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering)
(Won prize in Tech Fests, Written articles for US Open Source magazines, Started Magazine like forum in College)

Wipro Technologies (Engg. Design Servies) - 2 Years - Kolkata
(Got three performance awards)

[After College :

Got Selected in L&T; (Didn't Joined - Was a mistake, got some gyaan to go for GRE (didn't had money) so sat for CAT)

Sat for CAT; meanwhile I had one more offer in Wipro (extended joining period for 6 months)

Was Selected for IRMA- Reject

Next Year - 5 IIM calls and a FMS call - All reject few wait listed

This Year - No result

Now in dilemma.]

Hi Shubhaji u have to decide what u really want to do , i guess i am the eldest amongst all of you, coz i am in my late 20's and have decided to make some changes in life, the price for studying abroad is really high, but what the heck, that wont stop me giving GMAT or taking some information about the program, so lets not think much & if we want to give GMAT lets do that first. class 10 (st xaviers school)-90%

class 12(st xaviers school)-74%

engineering from WBUT(2012 passout stream cse ) - 7.4 %cile

12 months work ex in infy

Very true!!! This dilemma things never helps in life!! You just have to keep things simple to achieve!!

@All : Can we have any profile evaluators or mentors? Seniors, moderators or something?

What i suggest is, we all know we want to do GMAT an eventually MBA abroad, lets gather information from real sources, like some Counselors, or seminars at USIS, and share it in this forum. Like for example the way i have shared the website.
