All timings have been changed. mine has gone from 11 am to 3 30 pm. there are 3/4 sets of timings/day now. there are 3 batches for every timing and each batch has 15 students. what a drag

just had my interview and Putting end to all speculations.... yes there are 4 slots.... 10 am, 11:30, 2 pm and 3:30....
the document verification starts at 8:30 for 10 am slot... after that group leaves for the next slot... i was 10 am wala slot...my interview was at 12 pm and i was just 5th in the group of 10 and after that the 11:30 wala was supposed to have their gd...so u guys do the maths....
the distribution as it seemed was random.... there were some 8 am guys in 3:30 slot as well... though they did make some adjustments and made changed there time to 2 and 11:30 slots....
they are not entertaining any request for Slot change... but u guys can try
u need to take originals of ....X XII(marksheets) XII(certificate)...GRAD MARKSHEETs(clearly indicating ur grades or percentile)...CAT SCORE CARD....FMS CALL LETTER....CASTE CERTIFICATE (if ANY)...for verification.....!!! and i dont think they r looking at our files bundled with certi's !! keep it to be on a safer side.!! that's it..!!

mine was the colour black- i guess coz of my blazer colour...
GD pi exp of one of the candidates posted on the FB page....
the gd was decent.... it was "in democracy the foreign partnership in print media necessary"... just 10 of 16 ppl had turned up... it almost became a fish market... interviews were short and mine was like 5-8 mins... 4 panelist... all pretty seniors 2 male proffs and 2 female proffs... my extepore topic was- the colour black and interview was very generic.. why fms, which business books u have read, wat other options, whr u work and similar lines.... though mine wasnt that good... anyhow... yes there are ppl divided in 4 slots randomly... 10, 11:30, 2:00 and 3:30... it totally depends onur luck ki kaun se slot main atke ho... they are not entertaining request of slot change also... just take water and something to eat u will be fine... those coming from outside ticket as late as possible karwana....:).... turn out wasnt that much owing to 5 iims result but yeah decent enuff

what was the duration of gd?
the gd was 30 seconds to think and 10 minutes to discuss...
and yes there is a simple form u are required to fill out... very basic details... name dob grads marks etc... no SOP or anything

see they had the SOP in my file wen i went in... infact one prof kept reading it all the time... they might ask if they find something interesting or they might not... totally depends....
@trier... they had it in the file along with personal data form and the photocopies we sent with them.... so again as i have mentioned its all luck
1. What is conversion factor?
2. all academic certificates means-- only mark sheets or ALL documents starting from 10 (FMS has not asked to carry any doc!)??
if u are an engineer who get GPA there is usually a factor of multiplication prescribed by your college that converts ur gpa to a percentage, that is conversion factor
take 10th, 12th and grads marksheet, degree if u have
Right, hello people. I am finally home. as mentioned before my slot was 3 30, batch III. i reached the place again at 2 30 (after reaching first at 11). i found out that the 11 30 batch was still on. the 2 pm batch started at 3 30 and ours started at 5 15 pm after proffs started taking 5 mins interview. they were for 10 mins earlier. ppl who had flights were allowed to go in first, however these were ppl whose flights were at 8 pm and they were still scared that they would miss it. for all those flying back: it will take about 1 hr fr airport using the metro for T3 and 90 mins for T1.
the gd was no. of ppl X mins + 1 min. it wasnt a fish mkt but wasn't the smoothest either. interviews were exactly 5 mins including extempore. they didn't really know much about us except our college. don't know about freshers, but for work ex ppl it was mostly about the experience, and they asked for my specialization.
As mentioned before, there are 4 batches, and for some reason each set of 15 students has been given 90 mins which defies logic. it was a long tiring day. outstation ppl , try to keep your flights as late as possible.
ps- in the middle of the gd all 3 panelists started talking to some ppl who came in which was weird. in the middle of my interview one walked out yawning widely. the admin ppl also kept cribbing that they would not work beyond 6.
pps- just found out that i got through MDI

Had my interview in 10 a.m slot today...got postponed from the 8 a.m slot...as far as i know..there werent any indications abt tomorrow's slots...i wud advise people to go to da campus at 8/9 am n have a look at the notice boards...
GD started at arnd 10.30 am..the topic was ' Good managers are not always engineers' or something on those lines...it wasnt a bad fish-market...it was a gud fish-market, and one panelist made sure we were aware of it...13 people were supposed to b in da GD or so i remember...4-5 did not turn out..been da trend for the whole day i think...
we were asked to take a 5 min break after da GD...the same panelists held da PIs for our group...they called candidates one-by-one afta da break..went in..random question on my name..then P1 explained da structure of the PI..gave my extempore topic..' I admire Steve who created many jobs'...this was regarding wat id written on my SOP...Interview started off wid a couple of IT questions...i jus shook my head...then he asked one q from mech. engg...answered...then some Anna Hazare questions...some questions regarding marketing/advertising...nd my opinion abt MNREGA...ended wid a 'wat other calls do u have?' question...
the total time dedicated to one candidate is abt 23 min...including the GD...nd verification process took..arnd 2 hrs...so go in prepared...ATB..

Wht was d format for extempore ??? Is it 10 secs to think and 60 secs to speak ?
Do we need to take of time or the panel will take of that ?
It was a 0 sec to think...talk off the tip of ur tongue format...
....for 1 min...u dont need to keep track of time..there's a stop clock on da table 4 dat purpose...nd ur not allowed to touch it... :nono:

It was one of the better GD i have attended.. Hardly a fish market. People allowed everyone else to speak and only couple of times more than 2 people were speaking and that too none of them was aggressive, so it was pretty good.. The topic was not exactly objective and thus it was expected that discussion too would be on same lines.. Some said they are relevant some other they aren't.. I too made good number of entries and made some decent points. I was the Ist one to start the conclusion and felt i concluded pretty well.. Hopes that too has that brownie points

F1: Tell me about yourself..
YT: spoke everything as i knew FMS PI's are pretty short and will give them enough things to ask during the PI.. Acads,ECA, Hobbies,Internship etc...
F1: Okay we'll have an Extempore.. You wont be given time to think.. 1 min to speak..
Extempore Topic: MBA is overrated
Spoke well... Hype around MBA is mainly due to placements, salaries which should be reduced.. Managers reqd in industry.. B-school about learning, skills, knowledge sharing etc etc...
Just when i was about to conclude, ma'am said okay done...
F1: Where did you do your internship? And what was the work?
YT: Told... (it was start-up firm)
F1: Asked me something related to start-up firms in general and i said am not aware of it...
F1: Then asked me about Venture Capitalists.. Told.. But when she asked too much in detail and other stuff, i said it a short 3.5 week internship and i dunno details of the same...
F1: What do u do in your spare time...
YT: told about my hobbies and framed my answer in a way to invite questions...
( but strangely no questions at all:nono::nono:)
Now M1 came in
M1: What is WiMax? (Elec & Telecom Engg)
YT : told..
M1: diff between 3G and WiMax?
YT: Told but he didnt seem convinced and i dunno why as i gave a pretty decent answer..
M1: Why MBA?
YT: Gave a well prepared and a very good answer
M1: Seemed pleased to some extent.. Asked me to define Business in lay man's term..

M1: Then said anyone can do this? You dont need MBA for it...
YT: Said you told me define in layman's term so gave a very simplistic definition.. Then said there are various verticals and complex functions involved which requires Managerial skills...
M1: What is your career goal?
YT: told about interest in consulting...
M1: asked 1 or 2 questions.. gave decent answers..

Lasted about 8-9 mins.. For some odd reason that man didnt seem interested or convinced with my answers.. So in many ways it wasn't one of the greatest PI's i have attended...

Bring all supporting documents of details filled in 2nd form.. CAT score card, Grad marksheet, Xth, XIIth marksheet, photo ID proof...
P.S- It was one of the worst managed admission process ever... Though it was Ist day but still the organisation of FMS Admin wasn't great at all...
P.P.S- CAT weightage in all probability in 70% and 10% each to GD,PI,Extempore...
Verdict (after GD,PI) - Not too many hopes after below par PI... Felt i could have done a lot lot better... Disappointed with my performance....:-(:-(:-(

well they were asking for letters but few ppl today also didnt have their letters but were allowed to sit.... get a soft copy if u have... or else i dont think thats such an issue....

I had my interview today. I confirm that they will have your SOP during d interview.
And for me one of the proffs read it out very attentively and found out a flaw from it as well.
Please go through the SOP that you have posted earlier 2 FMS.

Hi everyone...
I had my interview yesterday... and was one of the victims of the rescheduling thing... But actually there was some mistake in the list, so all confusion... GDPI for 8:00 AM slot began at 10:00 (Certificate verification started at 9:00). the interview may last upto 2:00PM for this slot, mine ended at 12:30.
Certificates to carry: 10 class, graduation, caste, only these were being asked for...
Coming to my experince:
GD Topic was: Did Chinese economy supress the traditional western business model...
Extempore: Black...
They didn't even let me to introduce myself... as soon I entered the room, they gave me the topic and started the timer....
PI: very few questions may be 5 or 6... total interview did not last even for 5 mins...
