Renowned scholar and thought leader, Prof. Jagdish N. Sheth was at Shiv Nadar University for a talk on "Climate, Culture and Consumption". Consumption and cultural differences such as individualism, punctuality, and territorialism are due to the North-South differences in Climate which ranges from the arctic to tropical, according to Prof. Sheth.
Shiv Nadar University conferred an Honorary Doctorate on Prof. Jagdish Sheth on 13 May 2017, during the Convocation Ceremony. To mark the occasion, Prof. Sheth was awarded the Honorary Doctorate at the University before the talk. The Charles H. Kellstadt Professor of Marketing from Goizueta Business School at Emory University, Prof. Sheth is one of the foremost authorities in the world on marketing and consumer behaviour

#Entrepreneurship at SNU
Shiv Nadar University is honoured to be selected for hosting the Atal Incubation Centre as a part of the Atal Innovation Mission.
The Government of India setup the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) at NITI Aayog in 2016 with the overarching purpose of promoting a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in the country. This was done to address the need to create high-class incubation facilities across various parts of India with suitable physical infrastructure in terms of capital equipment and operating facilities, coupled with the availability of sectoral experts for mentoring the start-ups. T Niti Aayog received a total 1719 academic and 1939 non-academic applications for the grant. Only Ten institutions were selected from across the country after a four-stage evaluation process. Shiv Nadar University has been recommended funding [of INR 8.8 crores] to cover the capital and operational expenditures in running the Centre. The Incubation Centre will be a star-tup hub offering expert mentorship, infrastructure of co-working spaces, and full-spectrum business resources including hiring assistance, legal assistance and seed money.

"We have to move away from one-way satellite transmission to dedicated two-way interactivity. Giving the learners an opportunity to interact with the instructor is crucial for effective education and training. MOQSH-the management fest of SNU
MOQSH is the Management fest hosted by the School of Management & Entrepreneurship at Shiv Nadar University. The event attracts a large number of students of Post Graduate, MBA and Diploma level to compete in challenging and innovative events. The event has exciting prizes and internships for the winners.

Teams from Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Delhi-NCR, Indore, Ahmedabad, etc participate in the competitions. Various renowned speakers and entrepreneurs are invited for a corporate talk. Their expereince and knowledge has a lot to teach.
The two day event ends by a CulturalVaganza. This consists of fashion show, cultural performances, dance and singing face offs, etc.

'EME ULTRA RUN' AT SHIV NADAR UNIVERSITY
The fraternity of Corps called the 'Eagles' is an organization with the best skilled technicians and engineers of the Indian Army.
The corps has always been in the forefront of sports and adventure and produced outstanding sports persons like 'Flying Sikh Milkha Singh', 'Brig R K Manchanda', 'Maj HPS Ahluwalia', 'Col JK Bajaj', and many others.
The Electronics And Mechanical Engineers (EME) of the Indian Army celebrated the Platinum Jubilee of its formation. Shiv Nadar University hosted one edition of the 50 runs on 19th March 2018.
An enthusiastic crowd of more than 250 students, faculty, and staff ran to support a unique national record of '50 Half Marathons in 50 days' keeping in mind an aim of "Healthy,Clean, Green, Pollution Free and Happy India".
The I-Global MBA students at Shiv Nadar University attended an intriguing talk by Mr. Gary Bronson, Vice President of IT Operations at FedEx Corporation today. Mr. Bronson was visiting Shiv Nadar University and gave valuable organizational advise to the students by sharing his life experiences
WHY ADITI CHOSE SHIV NADAR UNIVERSITY
Aditi (Class of 2017) said that she chose SNU because it offers a plethora of course options being taught by experienced faculty who have expertise in their area of specialization.
She further added that she hasn't heard of any university which allows a student to design his own course strcture. A student can do a major in both finance and HR or finance and marketing.
She said that the faculty has a very rich and diverse industrial and corporate experience which they bring with them into the classrooms.
Recently ,The dramatics society of SNU organised a 3 day intra college event which was more like a theatre festival called Irtiqa.
Irtiqa is the intra fest of the dramatics society of Shiv Nadar University, which has three teams, namely – Chaplins, Mashaal and Udant. Each team comprises of members from the society as well as other collaborated societies and all of them compete in various events, with one team eventually being crowned as the champions.
It all started 4 years ago with the mere intention of bringing out talent to the stage and giving the students a taste of what it is to work in a team, follow one's passion and make dreams come true. In the past years, Irtiqa has grown to become the most loved event for not only the participants but for every theatre and art lover in the university.
· Short Movie Screening : With this year's theme being Black and White (no human dialogues), all the three teams have gone out to give their best shot on this one. It might sound easy-peasy but trust me,it's not .
· Stage Play Competition : Without retakes,can you put out your emotions bluntly and boldly live, in front of the audience?
· Improv : The final day ,Improv event where the performers use their wit and presence of mind .
After a month of sleepless nights and rigorous practice sessions Team Udant was declared as the winners of the 4th season of Irtiqa .

Mr.Kash Iqbal is an international speaker, educator, trainer, and founder of UnstoppableWorld. Starting university at just 16 years of age, Kash completed one of the world's most competitive premedical programs at Cornell University, going on to pursue degrees in Robotics Engineering and Legal Theory. Kash has conducted 100s of events on academic excellence, youth issues, science education, public speaking, and productivity, and toured countries like Australia, Malaysia, India, Thailand, Indonesia and the Middle East.
We had the opportunity to host this wonderful speaker at Shiv Nadar University on the 29th of March, 2018,to gain some insights from his life experiences and we learnt some of his techniques to maximize one's potential in their college life.
Congratulations to Dr. Arindam Mondal of Shiv Nadar University's School of Management and Entrepreneurship. His paper titled 'Multinationalization of #familyfirms from India: The role of socioemotional wealth' has been selected as one of the best papers in #FamilyEnterprise Research Conference, to be held in Guadalajara, Mexico on 7-9 June 2018. Dr. Mondal's paper has also been recommended for inclusion in the 16th Theories of Family Enterprise Conference (TOFE) to be held in Edmonton, Alberta, at the University of Alberta on 23-25 May 2018. His paper will be considered for publication in a special issue of Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice Journal (ET&P). ET&P is the best journal in #Entrepreneurship area and is in the Financial Times 45 top journals list (Impact factor: 4.916)

SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP SUMMIT @ SHIV NADAR UNIVERSITY
The Social Entrepreneurship Summit is the annual event of The Feeding India chapter of SNU, which aims at bringing together Social entrepreneurs from around the country with the objective of inspiring students towards taking up the responsibility of uplifting our society.
The 2017 SES saw distinguished Entrepreneurs coming under one roof for a multilateral exchange of ideas which served as a great learning experience for those who were present.
The 2018 SES took the cause another step forward by offering the students a chance to show their commitment towards the melioration of the society. The event brought together representatives from Give me trees, Bhumi, Frendicoes, Rolpio Foundation, and the founder of MyChild App, Harsh songra all of whom gave volunteering opportunities to the deserving students from the audience based on brief interviews which followed after the event.
Blood Donation Camp
The Office of Dean of Students' Welfare at Shiv Nadar Universityorganized a blood donation drive in association with Indian Red Cross Society at the campus on 19th of April.
The drive called HAEMO-HELP aims to aid children suffering from Thalassemia. There are about 1 million such cases in India every year and many of the patients need blood transfusion once every 21 days. The blood donation drive at Shiv Nadar University was a step towards supporting the cause.
