hi friends ...as u done fr GATE...which will help u to establish a solid platform fr ESE2014...so cash this knowledge in ESE2014 too with adding sm addnl subjects(besides GATE syllabus thr are addnl 4 tech. and GAT paper)...
nw 3months to go fr exam...so prepare fr this asap...during this prpn. one can easily prepare fr PSUs & othrs too...as ESE syllabus covers almost all others tech.exam syllabus...
so,no need separate prpn.fr PSUs here...start with ESE prpn.along with giving sm more attention on respective PSUs-syllabus at respective time(PSUs exam.week)...

According to an RTI Filed by Mr. Prashant Kumar (me) to UPSC a few days back...it is confirm from their side that "Computer Science/IT Students are also eligible to sit for UPSC Engg Services Exam-2014" and they can give paper under any of the four streams available(Civil,EE,EC,ME).

i think online TEST SERIES is already started for ESE. are u guys planing to join them?
Also some important things to know before the exam:-
(1)Objective paper is of 2hr duration consisting 120q each ,1.66 marks for right ans and -0.55 for wrong.
(2)Calculator is not allowed in objective papers ,but allowed for conventional papers.
(3)Conventional papers is of 3hr duration.
(4)Extra B sheet for writing is given in conventional paper.
(5)Conventional paper has options in terms of section.
