RRB NTPC is the short form for Railway Recruitment Board Non-Technical Popular Categories. RRB is a Government body that manages the recruitment process for the several posts in the railways’ sector. There are 21 Railway Recruitment Boards in total for numerous posts available in the Indian Railways. Candidates should keep checking the official website of the Railway Recruitment board as the RRB NTPC Notification are released there only. Railway Recruitment Board Non-Technical Popular Categories (RRB NTPC) would conduct to the recruit for the vacancies for the posts of Non-technical Popular Categories, Para medical staff, Material and Isolated Category and Level-1 Posts. The openings would be for Assistant Station Master (ASM), Junior Accounts Assistant-cum-typist, Senior Clerk cum typist, Goods Guard, Traffic Apprentice (TA), Commercial Apprentice (CA), Traffic Assistant, Enquiry Cum Reservation Clerk (ECRC), Senior Time Keeper.
The competition is tough and interested candidates should be aware of the RRB NTPC syllabus and exam pattern. Candidates should be totally aware of the exam pattern of RRB NTPC. The recruitment process will involve the below mentioned stages of the selection process:
- 1st stage of Computer Based Test (CBT)
- 2nd Stage of Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Typing Skill Test or Computer based Aptitude Test whichever is applicable
- Document Verification and Medical Examination
Candidates will mandatory have to appear for two stages of online exam – First Stage Online Examination (Preliminary Test which is online Computer Based Test) and Second Stage Examination (Mains – Online mode). Apart from the above exams, there will also be an assessment of the candidate’s typing skill (for the required posts)- Typing Test. The total marks for Railway Recruitment Board Non-Technical Popular Category examination first stage and the second stage exam is of 100 marks each. The General Awareness paper will be of the highest of marks distributed in the RRB NTPC 2019 First Stage Online Examination. Candidates should note that the questions will be of a multiple-choice type and the question paper will be in English, Hindu, Urdu, and other local languages. If the candidate clears the written examination then the candidates have to go through Aptitude Test and a Medical Fitness Test in order to completely finish the selection process of Railway Recruitment Board.

The duration of the examination is 90 minutes and the exam duration for PWD candidates is 120 minutes. Candidates should also be aware that there will be negative marking for the incorrect answers and for each wrong answer, 1/3rd of the marks allotted to the question will be deducted. Though, there shall be no negative marking for the un-attempted questions. The total number of candidates to be shortlisted would be 20 times the community wise vacancies of the posts notified against the RRB as per their merit in 1st stage of computer-based test cum choice of posts.
The Main examination or the RRB NTPC second stage exam pattern for the NTPC Railway will consists of 120 questions which needs to be answered in 90 minutes. The exam pattern for the main examination is mentioned below: –

RRB NTPC Exam Pattern 2019 holds the Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) which is conducted for the candidates who have opted for Traffic Assistant and Station Master. The candidates would need to secure the qualifying marks which is T-score of 42 marks in each of the test batteries. There is no negative marking in CBAT and shall have the questions and answer options only in English and Hindi. It is highly recommended that the merit list shall be drawn only from between the candidates qualifying in the CBAT, with 70% weightage for the marks obtained in the 2nd Stage Computer Based Test and 30% weightage for the marks obtained in CBAT.
Interested candidates should have the good typing skills as RRB Requirements 2019 are of typing the 30 words per minute in English or 25 Words per minute in Hindi. The typing test would be conducted on Personal computer only without editing tools and spell check facility. This RRB NTPC 2019 typing test is of qualifying nature and eight times the number of vacancies will be called for the typing test.
