RRB (Railway Recruitment Board) conducts the exam for Non-Technical Popular Categories in Indian Railways. The NTPC job is highly demanding and it is a great opportunity for personal growth also. The candidates for the post of NTPC will be selected on the basis of four stages of tests namely 1st stage Computer-based Test, 2nd stage Computer-based test, Typing Skill test, and Document Verification/Medical Examination.
The exam pattern for RRB NTPC is as follows:
1st stage Computer-based Test:

Typing skill test:
- For the posts of Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, and Junior Time Keeper the test will be of qualifying in nature.
- The candidates should be able to type 30 words per minute in English or Hindi on PC only without spell check facility and editing tools.
Preparation tips for the RRB NTPC exam 2019:
- The candidates need to make a clear study plan for the exam. The candidates have to give a certain time for a particular subject or topic first.
- In general science, the topics covered are Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The candidates can take the notes from NCERT books and 10th and 12th High school level books.
- Understand all the topics and concepts. Make sure of it.
- Learn the formulas, reactions, equation if any.
- In General Awareness (GA) section, the questions will be of national and international importance.
- For the GA section, one can study the History, Geography, Political Science books also.
- Having knowledge in the History, Polity, Parliament, Economy, and Railway Budget will help the candidates to score good marks.
- Read daily Newspapers and Magazines of current affairs. Keep them up to date. Focus mainly on the pages of Economy, Polity, Business, Technology, and Science.
- In GA section, the candidates need to daily revise what they have studied as there will be a lot of information that they have to keep in mind.
- The candidates should also learn the Books and Authors, Countries capital and currencies, Awards, Recognition, etc. it should in their fingertips.
- For the reasoning section, start with the easy topics like classification, blood relations, number, and analogy, etc.
- Then move on to the difficult topics like assumption and statements, puzzles, seating arrangements, etc. it needs a lot of practice.
- Don’t learn short-cuts instead try to understand the kind of problem and then solve it.
- In the Arithmetic section, it contains high-level maths. In this section, the application of formulas is needed to solve the problems.
- Start with percentages, ratios, and proportions, simple, and compound interest, etc. These are absolutely formula based ones.
- Then move on to the topics like Boats and cisterns, time, distance, and speed, mixtures and allegations, etc. along with the application of formulas it needs a logical and analytical approach to solve.
- Take mock test often to analyze the performance and also to know the strength and weakness.
