National Institute of Fashion Technology, Mumbai was established in 1995. Later on, the institute received the status of “Institute of Excellence.’’ This autonomous institute has developed an association with foreign universities as well.

NIFT Mumbai offers many fashion courses on different academic levels such as undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate. These courses include B. Des, B.F. Tech, M. National Institute of Fashion Technology offers many fashion courses are offered both at the Postgraduate and Undergraduate level of study. It offers is a B.Des course and B.F.Tech courses with a duration of four years at the Undergraduate level of study.

It also offers a Master of Design Space or M.Des, Master of Fashion Technology or M.F.Tech and Master of Fashion Management or MFM with a duration of two years at the Postgraduate level of study. NIFT Mumbai Admission Process

All the applicants get selected for a particular fashion course at an institute on the basis of the marks scored in the qualifying exam. The applicants of undergraduate and postgraduate courses are required to take a qualifying examination for getting entry into the course. B. Des, M. Des and B.F. Tech course applicants are required to follow the NIFT Entrance Exam pattern.

These tests are followed by a personal interview round. The selection of the candidates depends on the overall score obtained in the CAT/GAT test and the personal interview round.

NIFT Mumbai Result and Cut-off

NIFT Mumbai cut off list after the qualifying exam results are out. The cut-off list is presented to the students after the CAT and GAT results are declared. Candidates are required to cross the cut-off mark in order to get admitted to a particular course. B. Des and M. Des candidates have to cross the CAT (Creative Ability Test) cut-off mark. B.F. Tech candidates are required to cross the GAT (General Ability Test) mark.

The cut-off list is prepared on the basis of a number of factors like the number of candidates appearing for the qualifying exam, the difficulty level of the exam, the highest scores obtained by the candidates and number of seats available in the institute.
