The PG Program in Management, the program equips the students with the skills, knowledge and strategic perspectives essential to the leadership of business around the world. The program comprises 29 courses (of which 21 are compulsory courses and 8 are elective courses), and a Summer Internship Program. These courses are spread over four semesters.
The students can pursue elective courses in Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management, Operations and Information Technology and Systems leading to the respective specialisation.

Eligibility
2 year Management Program (PGPM):
Graduation (any discipline) with 50% and above marks with medium of instruction as English.
All applicants should have completed a minimum of 15 years of education (on 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 basis).
Candidates not meeting the eligibility criteria of English medium in graduation have to submit the TOEFL/ NELT/ IELTS score by May 31, 2025.
Applicants in their final year bachelor’s degree course are also eligible to apply, provided they complete their graduation requirements (including practical examinations / viva / assignments) before May 31, 2025. The admission will remain provisional until they produce marks sheets and degree certificates establishing their eligibility. The last date for submission of proof of graduation is November 01, 2025.
Eligibility criteria will be checked from August, 2025 onwards. Hence, the onus of ensuring that they satisfy the eligibility criteria rests solely with the candidates.
Selection Process
The Selection Process for admission to the MBA/PGPM programme at our 9 IBS campuses in February 2025 will consist of two components: Micro-Presentation and Personal Interview, each carrying a weightage of 25 marks.
As part of the Personal Interview, each candidate will be interviewed for 5-7 minutes. The Interview Panel will focus on assessing the attitude and aspirations of the candidates, besides evaluating their General Knowledge, communication skills, clarity of thought and expression, as well as aptitude for a career in management.
The Micro-Presentation component aims to provide a focused assessment of a candidate's communication and presentation skills, along with their ability to think and organize thoughts quickly.
Micro-Presentation Overview
Process:
- Candidates will select a number between 1 and 100. Each number corresponds to a pre-assigned topic.
- Upon selecting a number, the candidate is provided with the corresponding topic.
- They will have 1 minute to prepare and then deliver a 3-minute presentation.
Flexibility:
- If a candidate finds the first topic difficult, they may request a second topic by selecting another number between 1 and 100.
- Candidates may choose between one of the two topics but will not be given additional chances.
- The topics are randomised after each selection. Even if a subsequent candidate chooses the same number, they will receive a different topic.
Key Features of the Micro-Presentation
- The Micro-Presentation is an individual exercise, unlike a Group Discussion. Only the presenting candidate will speak, with no interaction or discussion among participants. Candidates will not be posed any questions during or after the presentation.
- Each candidate presents his/her topic before a batch of 9-11 fellow candidates and 2 Panel Members.
Evaluation Parameters
The Selection Panel will assess candidates based on their ability to:
- Think quickly and organize thoughts effectively.
- Present information clearly and concisely within the 3-minute time limit.
- Demonstrate the following qualities:
- Communication skills
- Logical reasoning
- Relevance to the topic
- Body language
- Confidence
Guidance for Candidates
Candidates may be advised to:
- Quickly jot down key points or an outline during the 1-minute preparation time to structure their thoughts.
- Focus on delivering the most critical and relevant information clearly and succinctly.
- Practice speaking at a steady pace to fit within the 3-minute limit.
- Maintain confidence, clarity, and appropriate body language throughout the presentation.
This new format is designed to provide a more effective evaluation of essential skills while ensuring a fair and consistent selection process.
IBS Kolkata Admission Dates 2024
To apply for IBSAT 2024, start by registering and paying the Rs 1800 application fee. Next, take the IBSAT test or submit scores from CAT, NMAT by GMAC™, XAT, or GMAT™. Note that IBSAT is an online remote-proctored test. After the test, wait for the results announcement. If shortlisted, you will receive an invitation to the selection process at the IBS Hyderabad campus, which includes Micro Presentation and Personal Interview rounds. Finally, upon successful completion, you will receive admission confirmation and campus allocation.
The admission to IBS Kolkata PGPM program happens through IBSAT. IBSAT is a Computer Based Test (CBT) and consists of multiple-choice questions. IBSAT is a two-hour exam designed to gauge a candidate's proficiency in quantitative methods, data interpretation, data sufficiency, vocabulary, analytical thinking, and reading comprehension. National Mock Test:
ICFAI Business School (IBS) conducts Free NMT every year with prize money in the interest of students to practice for the final IBSAT 2024 Test.
NMT is a great opportunity for the students to understand the exam pattern, competition and time management well before taking the final exam. In the past students who have scored well in the NMT cleared the final test with a good score.

Register for the National IBSAT mock Test and successfully take the test. Tests should be taken between the specified days only. The ICFAI Business School server will serve as the official timekeeper for the Promotion. Each individual may only initiate the exam once.
The email address you provide will be our primary means of communication with you. All entries must be submitted in English. Once you submit your entry, no further changes can be made to the entry even if there is time remaining in the Promotion Term.
Judging:-
Entrants with the top 100 rankers will be given prizes. Winners’ names will be declared no later than after 7 days of the Last day of the National Mock Exam. There is no random selection of entries.
Prizes distributed after verification of 10th certificate and graduation marks sheets (checking of age and year of passing and percentage in graduation).
50% compulsory in graduation (if passed) and in second year if passing out in 2024.

Amit Sinha, 97- IBS Kolkata
Through Campus, Amit was placed as Manager at Sterling Securities Limited; In August 1998, he decided to pursue PhD program at Kent State University. In 2002, Amit joined Indiana State University (ISU) at Terre Haute, Indiana, USA, as an Assistant Professor of Finance. At ISU he was also awarded its prestigious Promising Scholar award for the year 2006-07.
In 2008, Amit moved to Peoria, Illinois, USA to take up a position at Bradley University, where he continues to research and teach undergraduate finance students, and graduate students in the Masters of Science of in Quantitative Finance program. In the last five years, Amit has been associated with the Journal of Financial and Economic Practice as an Associate Editor, and this year with the International Mathematical Finance Conference.
Lahiri Basu – 2006 IBS Kolkata, Manager – Business Development, TRF Ltd. was placed with the largest ecommerce company of the country, mjunction services limited a TATA group company.
After spending more than a half a decade with mjunction, she took an internal group transfer to TRF Ltd, one of the premier bulk materials handling organisation of the world.
