Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Delhi Overview

Ans. Faculty of Management Studies Delhi is a national institute funded by UGC. The college provides no reservation for candidates belonging to any particular state. There is reservation and relaxation for certain categories only as per Delhi University norms. 

Ans. Yes, as a founding member of the Association of Management Development Institutions of South Asia (AMDISA), FMS has international collaborations with institutions around the world to encourage Foreign Exchange Programs. Some of the global institutions with whom FMS Delhi has academic tie ups are ESADE, Barcelona, Spain; University of California, Fullerton, USA; University Bielefeld, Germany; Manchester Business School, England etc.

Ans. The CAT score required for getting a call from FMS Delhi is mostly 99 percentile. FMS Delhi cutoff is calculated as per the composite score in CAT. The premier B School considers CAT Score for its initial shortlisting and 5 extra marks are also awarded to female candidates.

Ans. FMS Delhi students are provided accommodation in the DU hostels. DU has 6 hostels for boys and 3 hostels for girls allotted to the FMS students. The FMS hostel fee is charged extra apart from the tuition fee which is INR 69000/-.

Ans. No, as of now, XAT score is not considered for getting into PGDM at FMS Delhi. The college shortlists the applicants based on valid CAT scores.

Ans. FMS Delhi is a reputed national institute funded by the University Grants Commission. There is absolutely no reservation for people from any particular state. However, there is reservation and relaxation for certain categories as per Delhi University norms.

Ans. For the upcoming 2022 batch, the sanctioned seat intake for its flagship MBA Program at FMS Delhi will be 251. Additionally, 48 seats are approved under the program for supernumerary students.

Ans. If there is a relevant work experience related to the services sector, naturally the candidate would have an edge. However, applicants with work experience are not given any extra preference as work experience is neither mandatory nor is it considered as a weightage criteria for admission to MBA in FMS. Freshers are encouraged to apply for the aforesaid program at FMS.

Ans. Yes you are. But, if you have done only CA (Inter) without completing any undergraduate degree or completing CA (Final), then you are not eligible to appear in the FMS entrance exam.

FMS is among the few B Schools of India, where every permanent faculty member is a PhD.

Ans. The tuition Fee at FMS Delhi is one of the most affordable amongst all Business schools. The Annual tuition fee for MBA-Full Time at FMS is approximately INR 10,480 per year. The annual fee can be paid in a sum of INR 50,000 approx. in two equal portions of Rs. 25,000 each for MBA.

Ans. Faculty of Management Studies Delhi does not have a hostel so it shares its accommodation with the hostel premises of the University of Delhi. DU has numerous departments and a paucity of hostels, the hostel intake for men at FMS is limited to 60 students every year. The rest of the students have to look for accommodation outside the university campus. All the hostels are located at North Campus. Candidates need to appear for the personal interview for availing hostel facilities.

Ans. FMS MBA CAT Cutoff indicates the minimum marks/ percentile required to take admission in an MBA course. The highest and lowest cutoff went last year were 97 and 87 (approx.) respectively for the general category.

Ans. FMS Delhi has many student activities and clubs, namely- Management Science Association, Alumni Relations Society, The Consulting Club, The Cultural Society, The Finance Society, Scholastic Council, The Systems Society, Entrepreneurship Cell, Fiesta, The HR & OB Society, The Sports Society, Media Relations Cell and The Marketing Society.

Ans. No, FMS Delhi does not have a special score for gender diversity in its selection process. However, like all good management schools, FMS would like to maintain a healthy gender ratio, which is increasingly being reflected in the growth in the number of women candidates year on year. The male to female percentage is found to be 70% : 30% in FMS- Faculty of Management Studies Delhi as of now.

Ans. The overall CAT percentile above 98 can be apt enough for FMS Delhi for general candidates. The weightage given to sectional cutoff for calculating Composite scores for shortlisting are mentioned below.

Ans. No, there is no such provision of getting admissions in FMS Delhi through lateral entry. Further, you need to appear for the C/AT exams followed by GD /PI to get admission in the college’s flagship MBA program.
