About Bahadur Institute of Management Sciences (BIMS)
University of Mysore set up the Department of studies in Business Administration (DOSBA) in 1974. The great leap forward came in 2002. Dr. B.N. Bahadur an alumnus of the University and President of the B.N. Bahadur Family Foundation of Michigan, U.S.A made handsome donation, which together with contribution from the University Established “B.N. Bahadur Institute of Management Sciences”,(BIMS) situated on the northern edge of “Manasagangothri”. BIMS, set in a sylvan expanse, is a unique piece of architecture. Spacious classrooms, computer Lab with 54 systems, 200 seat Auditorium, 10499 Books are stacked in library with subscription to 22 Journal & 17 Dailies and sports facilities are available for around 400 students. In addition to the conduct of regular MBA programme, the Institute is expanding its horizon by offering a variety of management programs along with research and consultancy. Networking with other business schools and corporates has enabled course offerings to keep pace with the highly competitive business world and changing needs of the managerial market.
ERP SAP Lab has 42 Computers, Multipurpose Conference Room is used for MOOC Studio, Swayam related activities, PhD presentations and academic meetings. A well equipped Gymnasium and Health & Yoga club facilitates the holistic development of students.

Shri Nalvadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar, visionary Maharaja of the erstwhile Princely State of Mysore, established the University of Mysore in 1916 in the garden city of Mysore. An excerpt from Rigveda “Nothing is Equal to knowledge” is its guiding principle. Maharaja’s College, built in 1861, formed the nucleus of the fledgling University at that time. Succession of progressive Kings, Dewans and eminent Vice-Chancellors gave impetus to the growth of the University.

Eligibility - Any degree with recognized University (through PGCET Entrance Test- Conducted by KEA)
Doctorate Programme : Ph.D. Doctor of Business Administration
Eligibility:
A Candidate shall have Masters Degree or any other Degree/Diploma of the University or any other Degree/ Diploma of any other University/ Institution recognized as equivalent thereto, with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) or an equivalent Grade. However, this condition is relaxed to 50% in case of :
- SC/ST/Cat-I/Physically Challenged candidates.
- In service candidates with a minimum of five years of regular experience associated with teaching profession as teachers/ library professionals/ physical education instructors/ laboratory staff in educational institutions.
The candidates should have passed the Entrance Examination conducted by the University of Mysore. A Candidates securing at least 55 marks out of 10 (50 marks out of 100 i.e. , 50% in case of SC/ST/PC candidates) in the Entrance Test shall be declared as eligible to apply for admission to Ph D.
Exemptions
The following candidates are exempted of from the entrance exam and they can apply for provisional registration by consulting a guide in the subject of their interest after verifying their eligibility.
- Candidates who have qualified for UGC/CSIR/JRF Fellowships OR qualified for Lectureship through UGC/CSIR NET Examination/K-SET/GATE or Government/ Aided College Teachers under FIP.
- Candidates who have completed M.Phil. course, provided their M.Phil. course was through an Entrance Examination.
- Foreign Nationals with Indian/ Foreign Degrees
