Being anxious or nervous before an exam as crucial as CAT is normal for any candidate. To relieve you a little, we are hereby presenting to you a crisp list of three-pointers to make a quick mental note of. This list will give you the required confidence to glide through the D-Day (or should we say C-day?)
- Relax:
Yes, you read it right. The more you relax, the better the chance that your preparation will show in your answers. Don’t let the sweat of your anxiety slop up your performance.
- Documentation:
Ensure that all your documents are in order, which includes your admit card. At the exam centre, you will need to carry a printed copy of your admit card. Attach a recent passport-sized photograph. Barring this, you’ll need a photo identity proof, which can be any government authorised id. Remember you will not be permitted to write the exam if you fail to bring in either of the documents.
- Punctuality:
Know your exam centre in advance, so that you can reach it on time. You should arrive well ahead of time, perhaps an hour in advance, to ensure that there is ample time for the verification process to get done. As they say, “Punctuality maketh a person.”
A couple of other points to keep in mind for CAT 2019:
- Using the keyboard during the exam is strictly prohibited: The candidates are instructed not to use the computer’s keyboard. You should mark all your answers using the mouse. If the candidates are found using the keyboard, their respective terminals will immediately be locked.
- Do not use the screen calculator. It will be smartest to practice your calculations mentally. The CAT exam does provide an on-screen calculator for use, but it is advisable to avoid it as it can get time constraining.
