PaGaLGuY spoke to, possibly, the busiest man on the MBA scene in India – CAT 2015 Convenor Prof Tathagata Bandyopadhyay. Despite his busy schedule, he agreed to answer a few questions and also whisper some last-minute tips.
Is there more work now, that CAT is to be held on one day?
It is the other way around. Except that we need to mobilize more resources this time.
How is your typical day the week prior to the exam?
We are receiving hundreds of inquiries, phone calls and requests. CAT centre has been continuously responding to it. At the same time we are in close contact with TCS operations team. Sometimes I need to take decisions on matters in consultation with TCS team.
What advice would you give aspirants – CAT is just 2 days away?
Stay healthy, have good sleep and don’t think about the outcome.
There was some uproar when centres were announced – was allocation in favour of women and centres in remote areas?
DA and women candidates are given priority. But almost all were assigned to the centres from their list of preferences.
Former CAT Convenors have told aspirants to get basics right, you agree?
I would like to add you need to do reasonably well in all sections.
