Jamshedpur-based XLRI School of Business & Human Resources concluded its Summer Internship placements for the batch of 2011-13 with 77 recruiters making a total of 365 offers to a batch of 240 students.
Microsoft, ITC, Standard Chartered, Aditya Birla Group and Tata Motors were the largest recruiters of summer interns from the school.
About 22% of the students were picked up for finance roles. Financial institutions such as NM Rothschild, The Carlyle Group, Standard Chartered Bank, Citibank, Goldman Sachs, Nomura, Development Bank of Singapore and Deutsche Bank recruited interns for both their domestic as well as international desks. Indian non-banking financial companies such as Edelweiss capital and SBI Capital Markets recruited interns too. Goldman Sachs recruited for an Asset Management role and Citibank offered a Global Markets profile. Treasury roles were offered by Axis Bank and HDFC. Corporate Finance offers were made by Hindustan Unilever Limited, Kraft Cadbury, Airtel, Medtronic, Wipro and Larsen & Toubro.
Among FMCG companies, Asian Paints, Castrol, Coca Cola, Colgate Palmolive, Dabur, GSK Consumer Healthcare, Heinz, Johnson & Johnson Consumer Healthcare, ITC Kimberly Clark, Marico, Nestle, Nokia, Perfetti, Reckitt Benckiser and Shell offered roles in Sales and Marketing functions. The Pharma industry made offers through the participation of Novartis, Abbott Nutrition, GSK Pharma and Dr Reddys. International roles were offered by Hindustan Unilever Limited, Kraft Cadbury and PepsiCo in Sales & Marketing, branding and operations profiles across South East Asia, Middle East and Europe.
TAS, Aditya Birla Group and GE, Reliance Industries Limited, Mahindra & Mahindra, Larsen & Toubro and Bharti Group offered General Management roles.
The consulting sector picked up 22% of the batch, who will intern in companies such as Accenture Business Consulting, Hay Group, Aon Hewitt, Ernst & Young, KPMG, Mercer, Deloitte, Capgemini, Wipro Consulting and Cognizant Business Consulting.
Additionally, companies such as Flipkart, Capgemini, ICICI Bank, Nielsen, Texas Instruments, Infoedge, Cisco, SAP and Times of India also recruited summer interns from XLRI.
