The notification for the prestigious Xaviers Admission Test (XAT) has been released on 17th August. Registrations open from 17th August till 30th November. Applications with a late fee can be made till 11th December 2016. The exam will be conducted in a pen and paper mode. The organizers for XAT believe that a pen and paper mode ensures the students are tested on the same questions and not on different sets as it happens with online exams. This also ensures that students without tech proficiency can compete on an equal footing.
When is the XAT Exam?
XAT 2017 will be held on January 8th from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm across 47 centres in India and 2 cities internationally (Dubai and Kathmandu). The admit will be issued from 20th December.

What is the pattern of the exam?
The exam pattern has not been changed since the past year and shall have four sections to be completed within 210 minutes.
- Verbal and Logical Ability
- Decision Making
- Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation
- General Knowledge.
The marks of General Knowledge will not be used for determining the percentile and cut off at first stage of selection.
Where can my score be accepted?
More than 140 institutes accept XAT as a valid score making XAT one of the most widely accepted Management Entrance scores in the country. Member and Associate Institutes are listed on XAT’s website.
How much does it cost to write the XAT?
The fee for XAT 2017 is Rs. 1600 and an additional fee of Rs. 300 is charged for each program applied at XLRI. XLRI has three management programs: Human Resources Management (HRM), Business Management (BM), and General Management (GM). The HRM at XLRI is regarding as one of the best programs for Human Resources in the country.
Applicants for XAT 2017 can choose to pay online using credit card/ debit card/ online banking in addition to cash payments made at selected IDBI Bank branches. You can chose to pay via a Demand Draft as well.
Who can write this exam?
Anyone with a graduation degree spanning a minimum of three years or equivalent from a recognised University or anyone in their final year graduating in 2017 can apply.
Additionally, those applying for the General Management(GM) course at XLRI must also have a minimum of 5 years of managerial or supervisory experience as on 31st March 2017.
When would be results be announced?
The scorecards will be available on the website from 31st January 2017.
