Kanishka Singh from Jharkhand, with an overall percentile of 99.29 in XAT 2017, is confident enough of getting admission in his preferred course at XLRI Jamshedpur. Talking to PaGaLGuY Kanishka mentioned that he was assured of getting at least 99 percentile after the official answer key was released. Kanishka got his BE degree from PESIT Bangalore in 2016.
“Once the answer keys were out, I was sure of getting around 99 percentile, irrespective of the cut off marks,” said Singh. When asked whether he is sure about getting a desired seat after GDPI he further stated, “Apart from your scores a lot depends on your GDPI performance. But scoring above 99 percentile will certainly go in my favor and I feel I have a decent chance of getting my preferred choice”.
Although Kanishka has applied both for HRM and BM courses, he wants to study PGDM (BM) offered by Xavier School of Management (XLRI), Jamshedpur. “For the GDPI preparation, apart from self assessment, I am planning to get a good GDPI experience by joining a coaching centre,” said Kanishka while asked what he is planning next.
Kanishka has not joined any coaching institute for CAT and XAT preparations. “While CAT and XAT have Quant and Verbal aptitude section in common, there is Decision Making section which I had to study separately for XAT. I solved previous year XAT papers for preparing myself in DM. Fortunately I scored 99.57 percentile in DM section which helped elevating my overall percentile a lot,” said a confident Kanishka.
