True learning experience is where theoretical concepts meet real world applications. Our batchmates at MDI Murshidabad were blessed with such an opportunity when they were chosen to work on a Live Project on, “New Avenues of Employee Involvement and Participation and Analysis of 5S & Visual Management System” for NTPC, Farakka.
In their very first trimester it was a massive learning curve for them to work for an esteemed organisation like NTPC. Spread over two states and four districts this 2100 MW thermal power plant has over 1000+ employees.
Under the guidance of their mentor and our faculty member Dr. Niharika Gaan, two teams comprising five members each worked over a period of three months to complete their project. In due course the participants Sayan Choudhury, Syed Fayez Ameed, Garima, Abu Taher, Jaideep Negi, Sagnik Chattopadhyay, Sonik Sourabh, Asad Ali, Adrija Singh and Upamanyu Mitra learned a great deal about Visual Management Systems and their possible applications in practicality in the power sector along with best industry Human Resource practices as they worked closely with Mr. Kunal Gupta, GGM NTPC Farakka Unit, Mr. Arun Kumar, GM-HR, NTPC Farakka Unit, Mr. Ashutosh Pande, DGM – HR.
We acknowledge and appreciate the hard work put in by our students. We are thankful to NTPC Farakka for giving them an opportunity to gather hands on industry experience that would help them in their future endeavors.
