My turn came at 3:15pm and the peon outside the interview room told me to sit and wait for the ring of the bell.
When the bell rang I entered the room after taking
permission and wished the panel Good Afternoon Mam and Sir. They responded Good Afternoon.
The main interviewer who was sitting in the middle told me to take a seat. I replied Thank you sir.
M1. – In which year have you completed your graduation?
Me – I replied,
in 2008.
M1. – From which stream you have completed your graduation?
Me – I replied that I
have done my Graduation in Journalism & Mass communication.
M1. – Did you work somewhere after completing graduation?
Me – I replied, Yes, I have worked in Veer Arjun
newspaper.
M1 – Ok, good. Veer Arjun is a good newspaper. From which
city is this newspaper published?
Me – I replied, from New Delhi. At one point of time, Atal
Bihari Vajpayee was also working as the Editor of the Veer Arjun newspaper.
M1. – So why do you want to join Banks as there is good scope
and money in journalism?
Me – I replied, when I was working in Veer Arjun
newspaper, then I came to know about banking sector. Due to crisis of recession,
many top banks of various countries became bankrupt. Indian Banking sector was
not affected so much by recession. Strict rules and policies of RBI made the Indian
banking sector very strong. My brother, who was also preparing for banking exam
during that time, motivated me to start preparation for Banking Sector. So I
decided to make my career in banking sector and started preparation in 2012.
M1. – Ok, good. Are you currently working somewhere?
Me – I replied, Yes Sir. I am working as Content Manager at
PaGaLGuY online education site.
M1 – What is PaGaLGuY? (Ye kya hai PaGaLGuY)
Me – I replied, PaGaLGuY is an online education network,
which provides online education to the students who prepare for various competitive
exams such as Banking, MBA, SSC, etc.
M1 – Do you charge fees for this?
Me – I replied, No sir, we provide free education.
M1 – Ok, good. From where does money come to run the site?
Me – I replied, Sir, through Advertisement and clicks.
M1 – How much money you charge for the Advertisements?
Me – I replied, Sir, this work comes under marketing section,
so I don’t know about this. I look after the Banking section.
M1 – What is your job profile?
Me – I replied, I post articles, quizzes on
various subjects that are important for Banking entrance exam and also guide banking
aspirants.
M1 – Good, this is a good business. Now everything is going online.
Me – I told yes sir.
M1 – Who is the founder of PaGaLGuY?
Me – I replied, Mr. Allwin Agnel is the founder of PaGaLGuY.
M1 – So he is a Christian?
Me – I thought he said, So he is a foreigner? I replied, no
Sir he is an Indian.
M1 – I am saying is he a Christian.
Me – I replied, Yes Sir he is a Christian.
M1 – Why did he choose this name – PaGaLGuY?
Me – I replied, actually Sir in 2002 he created his Email id
with pagalguy@gmail.com and when he decide
to start online site, he needed a domain name which would be unique and
attractive. So he created online site with PaGaLGuY name.
M1 – Ok, good. Do you know about Negotiable Instrument Act?
How many sections are under Negotiable Instrument Act?
Me – I replied, Sir I am not aware about Negotiable
Instrument Act sections. But I know about Negotiable Instruments such as Cheque,
Draft, etc.
M1 – No tell me, how many sections are there in Negotiable
Instrument Act?
Me – I replied, Sorry Sir I don’t know about this.
M1 – So in which city do you work?
Me – I replied, Sir currently I am working in Mumbai.
M1 – At which place in Mumbai?
Me – I told, at Sion
M1 – Who else lives in Mumbai from your family?
Me – I replied, Sir my cousin brother.
M1 – What does he do there?
Me – I replied, Sir he is working as a fellow under Kaivalya
Education Foundation. He used to give training to the head masters and teachers
of the public schools who work under Bombay Municipal Corporation. Also he
guides and tells the importance of education to children’s parents so that
they can send their child to a school as there are many students who have
taken admission but do not go to the school.
M1 – Ok, your brother is doing a good job.
Me – I replied, Thank you Sir
M1- In Mumbai there is a Bombay Stock Exchange and it is
also called Sensex.
Me – I replied yes Sir.
M1 – So tell me what is the Sensex value of yesterday?
Me – I replied, Sorry Sir I don’t know about yesterday’s
Sensex.
M1 – Ok, it seems that you are not interested in Stock
Markets.
Me – I told yes Sir.
Me – If you get selected and get posting in U.P., will you switch from Mumbai or not?
Me – I replied, Yes Sir, definitely I will switch from Mumbai
and join the bank in U.P. As previously I worked for three years in New Delhi and
when I got a good offer, I switched and joined my new job in Mumbai.
M1- Ok, good. All the Best. You can leave now.
Me – I thanked them with a smile and came out of the
Interview room.
