The VIT University is conducting the Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE) 2016 and applications are invited for aspirants for admissions to various undergraduate engineering programmes. The admissions to the campuses in Vellore and Chennai is based only on the candidate’s performance in the VITEEE exam. Both the campuses together have close to 5000 seats in the undergraduate engineering programs and about 2 lakh aspirants are expected to take the prestigious exam.
The application can be availed both online and offline for an application fee of Rs. 960 and Rs. 990 respectively. Candidates can apply online by visiting the official website while offline applications are available at selected head post offices. The the last date for application is 29.02.2016.
The computer based test (CBT) will assess students’ knowledge in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English. The exam will have 40 questions each on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics while the English section will have 5 questions. Every correct answer will help students gain 1 mark and there will be no negative marking. The candidates can book the slot for the computer based test by the third week of March 2016.
The exam will be conducted from April 6th to April 17th, 2016. The exams will be conducted in 3 sessions on each day. The exam timings : Session 1: 9:00 am to 11:30 am / Session 2: 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm / Session 3: 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm.
The tentative date of declaration of results is April 29, 2016.
