UPSC has revised the Annual Exam calendar for the upcoming year 2020. The calendar includes the dates of important exams conducted by UPSC like Civil Services Exam, NDA, CDS, etc that is going to be held in 2020. The aspirants can check the exam dates to prepare for the exams as per the schedule. It also includes the date of notification, duration of exam, opening and closing date of the application form.
UPSC Civil Service exam:
It is a nation-wide competitive exam conducted by UPSC for the recruitment of various civil services posts like IAS, IPS, and IFS. The exam will be conducted in three phases- namely preliminary, mains and interview.
Engineering services:
Indian Engineering Services officers are selected by the union government based on the recommendations of UPSC. A combined three-stage (prelims, mains, and interview) competitive exams called the Engineering Services Exams is conducted by UPSC for the recruitment of IES.
Combined Defence Service:
The CDS exam is conducted twice a year by the UPSC for the recruitment to the Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Indian Air Force Academy, and Indian Naval Academy. The notifications will be usually released in October and June and the exams will be conducted in February and November. Only unmarried persons will be eligible for the exam.
Central Armed Police Force:
It refers to standardized categorization of security forces in our country under the authority of the ministry of home affairs. They are as follows: Border Security Force, Central Reserve Police Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, Assam Rifles, Central Industrial Security Force, National Security Guard, and Sashastra Seema Bal.
National Defence Academy:
It is a joint service academy of Indian Armed Forces, where the cadets of the Army, The Air Force, and the Navy train together before they go the respective services. The NDA is located in Pune.
