1.Common Admission Test:

CAT is the most common MBA entrance exam and is held annually for postgraduate management courses by Indian Institute of Management and more than 100 b-schools in India. After the addition of six new IIMs in Nagpur, Sirmaur, Vishakapatnam, Amristar, Sambalpur, and Bodhgaya the total number of MBA seats have been increased to 4000. Eligibility:    

  • Candidates should have a minimum of 50% of aggregate marks in graduation from any recognized university.

 

  • Final year graduation students can also apply if they can submit their final graduation marks within the provided time.

Exam Pattern: CAT is a computer-based test and its duration is 3 hours. It hs multiple choice questions which comprise of the following sections: Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation& Logical Reasoning, and Verbal & Reading comprehension. It has separate cut-offs for individual section too. Each question will carry 3 marks and 1 mark will be deducted as a negative mark for every wrong answer.

2.Xavier Aptitude Test:

There are more than 140 Management Institutes that use XAT scores for selecting the students for them. XLRI Jamshedpur has been conducting this admission test in all India level.

Eligibility:

  • Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

Also, final year candidates can apply for this test.

Exam Pattern: XAT is a written test for a period of 3.5 hours. Majority questions will be of the objective type also it has subjective type questions which will be in the form of Essay Writing. This exam will comprise of two papers. Paper 1 will be of objective type questions and will be of 2 hours and 20 minutes. Its sections are Verbal & Logical Ability, Decision Making, and Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation. Paper 2 will be both objective and subjective questions. It will be of 30 minutes in duration. 25 questions will be of GK and 1 essay writing question with no choice.

3.Indian Institute of Foreign trade:

IIFT is India’s most prestigious business schools. Approximately 50000 candidates apply for around 400 seats in 3 campuses located at New Delhi, Kolkata& Kakinada.

Eligibility:

  • Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree with 3 years duration from a recognized university.

Exam Pattern: This exam comprises of 2 hours with objective type questions from English Comprehension, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Analysis, and General Knowledge & Awareness. The number of questions will vary from 100 to 140. Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their scores in the entrance test.

4.Symbiosis National Aptitude:

SNAP is a written test on national level conducted by the Symbiosis International University for the admissions of MBA programme.

Eligibility:

  • A candidate should possess at least 50% in graduation.
  • Final year students can also apply if they could submit their final year marks within the provided time.

Exam Pattern: It is an objective type exam with 2 hours of duration. It consists of four sections: Quantitative Aptitude, General English, And General Awareness & Analytical Reasoning.

5.NMAT by GMAC:

NMAT by GMAC is another MBA entrance test conducted by the Graduate Management Admission Council. GMAC acquired the NMAT exam In India from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS). GMAC has renamed it as NMAT by GMAC.

Eligibility:

  • Candidates should possess a minimum of 50% from a recognized university.

Exam Pattern: It is a 2-hour computer-based test. It consists of multiple choice questions with the sections: Language skills, Data Interpretation, Quantitative skills, and Data sufficiency & Logical Reasoning. Each question carries one mark and there are no negative marks.

6.Common Management Admission Test:

CMAT exam is conducted by All India Council for Technical Education for the admission of MBA/PGDM programmes for over 1000 B-schools in India approved by AICTE.

Eligibility:

  • Candidates should have a graduate degree with a minimum of 50% marks for a general category and a minimum of 45% for reserved category.

Exam pattern:  it is a 3-hour computer-based test comprising 100 questions with four sections. They are Logical Reasoning, Language comprehension, Quantitative Techniques, and Data Interpretation & General Awareness. Four marks will be awarded for each right answer and one mark will be deducted as a negative mark for each wrong answer.

7.IBS Aptitude Test:

IBSAT conducted by the ICFAI Business School of Hyderabad. It is an all India MBA admission test of ICFAI.

Eligibility:

  • Candidates must possess a minimum of 50% in any discipline in English medium.

Exam Pattern: It is a 2-hour computer-based examination to test the candidate’s ability in Quantitative Techniques, data interpretation, Data Adequacy, Vocabulary, Analytical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension.

Other than this, there are also several state-level examinations that you can take to broaden your chance for MBA education.
