Maximum offers in the summer placements this year were made in the manufacturing sector by firms like Cummins (India), L&T;, Essar, Tata Motors, Essar and RPG taking along with them 21 pc of the batch. 10 pc of the students opted for consulting firms like Ernst & Young and Hewitt. FMCG sector was opted by 20 pc of the students, going in companies like HUL, Proctor and Gamble, Colgate Palmolive, ITC, Nestle, Cadbury, Asian Paints, Marico, Coca Cola & HCCBL etc. Pharma sector attracted 2 pc of the students with participation from firms like Astra Zeneca .
IT and ITES bagged 17 pc of students in software companies like Micrsosoft, Texas Instruments, Wipro, Capgemini, Firstsource etc. Diversified group RPG Enterprises made profile specific offers while Tata Sons recruited for its HR Leadership Development Program called HRDP. ABG Shipping and SHRM (Society for Human Resources Management) were two new entrants in the summer placement process. HSBC and Deutsche Bank were also present to woo the students for a summer internship.
