Kurukshetra has become the first ever techfest to be endorsed by UNESCO. Patronage, the highest form of support of UNESCO for Kurukshetra has added a feather to its cap.
“Kurukshetra provides the ideal platform for students to express their creativity and innovative spirit. This event challenges them to compete against the best brains from across the country, motivating them to expand the horizons of their knowledge. The patronage of UNESCO has boosted our efforts further” explains Balaji, one of the core members.
XCEED, the nationwide Robotics challenge was met with grand success across the major cities in India. The prelims and finals of the robotics contests for south zone will be held in Chennai during Kurukshetra with huge prize money awaiting the winners. Robotics events include Solenopsis, Freightocog, Catch me if u can and Designer’s Quest, one of the unique attempts challenging participants to create a robot that is mobile without using the typical end effectors like wheels or belts.
Some of the major challenging events include PD^3, which requires creating any innovative product that could benefit the society, Artificial Intelligence Programming, Contraption, Rumble in the Junk, which expects the participants to build a working machine out of random junk and Prof Challenge, the unique event in which the contestants are tested for their ability to explain even complex topics in a simple manner to an audience.
The K! Open Quiz will be conducted by Dr. Gopal Kidao & Dr. Navin Jaykumar and is open for anyone under the sun to participate. The Biz Quiz which is open for students & Corporate promises to be a feast for quizzing enthusiasts. With the total prize money for the quizzes being Rs.1 lakh, this is the place to be for all hardcore quizzers. The K!Scitech Quiz and How Stuff Works competitions promise to cater to one and all.
The Online Programming Contest attracts international participation with coding geeks from all over the world expected to compete for the USD$2200 worth prizes. Many online events including Dalal Bull, the online stock market game are up and running in the website with excellent participation.
