TAPMI (T.A. Pai Management Institute) is an autonomous business school in India. The institute was established in 1980. The institute is the fifth management institute in India with dual accreditation of association to advance collegiate schools of business and association of MBA.
Courses offered:
TAPMI provide admissions for the post-graduate courses PGDM, PGDM- Financial Services, Human Resources Management, and Marketing and Sales Management. The institute accepts the scores of CAT/XAT/GMAT exams. Likewise, IIMs, GMAC, and XLRI have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme.
Short-listing of candidates:
The short-listing of candidates will be made on the basis of CAT/XAT/GMAT scores whichever is higher. The candidates with work experience of two years or more the TAPMI institute follows the profile-based short-listing. The quality and duration of the work experience will be considered.
The cut off required for CAT is 85%, XAT 85%, GMAT 650, Graduation 60%, 12th standard 60%, and 10th standard 60%. The selection for admissions will be based on the written ability test, group discussion, and personal interview.
In the written ability test the candidates writing capabilities will be evaluated. It aims to evaluate the articulation and technical background of the candidates.
In group discussion, the aim of the institute is to evaluate the candidate’s ability to interact within a group. It mainly evaluates leadership skills, problem-solving, solution orientation, communication skills. The topics for GD will be based on current affairs/issues debated in the last five years.
The personal interview is conducted to understand the candidate’s attitude towards management education. It will also evaluate the candidate’s ability in self-awareness, self-management, communication and leadership.
The final selection of the candidate will be based on CAT/XAT/GMAT (overall percentile) + verbal ability percentile+ academic profile+ work experience+ WAT score+ GD score+ PI score.
