National Insurance Academy is one of the best institute which has given me an opportunity to learn and enhance my knowledge. When I heard of this institute I got good reviews about this institute. As I got selected for the interview after submitting my application for admission in the PGDM programme, I was delighted. Before the interview day, I was little worried as to how would I reach the institute. However, bus pickup and drop facility was provided by the institute from a certain place in the middle of the city which was nearer to all the transportation facilities.
On reaching to the campus, I was astonished to see the campus. I have never seen an educational campus like NIA. On entering the campus, there were trees, garden and also there was a fountain in the middle of the campus. I reached the hostel area and there was a room booked for me. Yes, the institute had asked me beforehand if I would require a room to stay. I took rest for a little while as my interview was at about 9:30 am since I reached the campus earlier. There was one other girl in the room who came a day before the interview. We introduced ourselves and went for breakfast. The food facility was pretty good. We walked towards the academic block through the lush green surroundings.
While entering the interview hall, we were provided with numbers, these numbers were considered as our entry numbers. We were soon addressed by the Director of NIA, the Principal and some of the faculty members. The process started with the GD/PI of a group of 6 people each. We were given a bundle of chits and one of us had to pick up the chit. The topic which was mentioned in the chit was our topic of discussion. During the discussion, a panel of two was there to judge us. First, I got worried as to how would I clear it. Though I had a work experience background, however still my mind was filled with fear and anxiety. We started speaking one after the other. Who would get chance to speak or not, nobody was clear on it.
Luckily, my batch was cooperative and everybody had the opportunity to speak up. After our discussion, we were given chance to summarise our thoughts in one minute for each. I was happy that one had chance to speak without interference. After the group discussion, we were immediately called for interview. During my chance, the panel comprised of Principal and other two faculty members. There were rapid fire of questions on me one after the other like why I want to leave my job, what did I find in NIA that I want to join this institute, etc. I answered all the questions patiently and then realised that my interview was the longest to be taken. It took almost half an hour for my interview.
With all the endeavours I had in my mind, I would say NIA is an institute which provides opportunity to the individuals to grow by themselves a lot, as spoon-feeding is not good for health.
